What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
A256 Crabble Hill, Dover, CT16 2BF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A256 Crabble Hill, Dover, on or after 29th September 2024 for up to 22 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 02:00 and 23:59 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Whitfield Hill, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Jubilee Way, A20 Townwall Street, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road and A256 Crabble Hill.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A256 Whitfield Hill, A256 London Road and A256 Crabble Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A256 London Road, Dover, CT17 0SR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A256 London Road, Dover, on or after 27th September 2024 for up to 9 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed on the slip road from the right turn from Coombe Valley Road to the junction of Cherry Tree Avenue, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A prohibition of right turn will be imposed on part of Coombe Valley Road turning right onto A256 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Buckland Avenue and Cherry Tree Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2011 Folkestone Road, Dover, CT17 9QY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2011 Folkestone Road, Dover, on or after 26th September 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Elms Vale Road and A256 Priory Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Elms Vale Road, Eaton Road, Astor Avenue, Tower Street, Tower Hamlets Road, Bridge Street, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street and B2011 Folkestone Road.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 York Street, A20 Townwall Street, A20 Snargate Street, A20 Limekiln Street, A20 Archcliffe Road, A20 Trunk Road, A20 Hougham Slip Westbound Off and B2011 Folkestone Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Abbey Road, Dover, CT17 0LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Abbey Road, Dover, on or after 9th September 2024 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Crabble Lane and Barwick Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Abbey Road, Minnis Lane, Lewisham Road, Crabble Road, Crabble Avenue, Hillside Road, Bunkers Hill Road, St Radigunds Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Coppin Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coppin Street, Deal, on or after 9th September 2024 for up to 67 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Middle Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Farrier Street, Beach Street, Coppin Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Kennedy Drive, Walmer, CT14 9DR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kennedy Drive, Walmer, on or after 23rd September 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
New Street, Dover, CT16 1BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic in 2 phases on part of New Street, Dover, on or after 15th September 2024 until the works have been completed.
Phase 1 - Works will be carried out from 15th September 2024, with estimated completion by 15th September 2024.
Phase 2 - Works will be carried out from 13th October 2024, with estimated completion by 13th October 2024.
Phase 1 - New Street will be closed between the junctions of A256 York Street and Queens Gardens, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Queens Gardens, Worthington Street, Biggin Street, Priory Street, A256 York Street and New Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via New Street, A256 York Street, A20 Townwall Street, A20 Snargate Street, A256 York Street, Worthington Street and Queens Gardens.
Phase 2 - New Street will be closed between the junctions of A256 York Street and Queens Gardens, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Queens Gardens, Worthington Street, Biggin Street, Priory Street, A256 York Street and New Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via New Street, A256 York Street, A20 Townwall Street, A20 Snargate Street, A256 York Street, Worthington Street and Queens Gardens.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wingleton Lane, Ripple, CT14 8HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingleton Lane, Ripple, on or after 23rd September 2024 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wingleton Lane, Crooked S Road, Ripple Road, Ringwould Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
