What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
B2068 Stone Street, Petham & Stelling Minnis. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow utility and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of B2068 Stone Street, Petham & Stelling Minnis, from 23rd September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on B2068 Stone Street, Petham & Stelling Minnis will be imposed between Stoneleigh House and Four Mile House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
This restriction is in conjunction with two-way lights.
B2205 Sea Street, Whitstable, CT5 1AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2205 Sea Street, Whitstable, from 26th September 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd October 2024, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed. Please note, there will be no weekend working.
The road will be closed from Red Lion Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The One-Way Order is to be suspended on B2205 Sea Street to allow for residential access.
The alternative route for cars and small vehicles is via B2205 High Street, B2205 Oxford Street, B2205 Canterbury Road, B2205 Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, Herne Bay Road, Tankerton Road, Tower Parade and Harbour Street.
The alternative route for HGV and large vehicles is via B2205 High Street, B2205 Oxford Street, B2205 Canterbury Road, B2205 Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Bridge Road, Sea Street, Whitstable Road, St Johns Road, Herne Bay Road, Tankerton Road, Tower Parade and Harbour Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ancress Close, Canterbury, CT2 7TX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Ancress Close, Canterbury, from 23rd September 2024, with estimated completion by 27th September 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Central Avenue, Herne Bay, CT6 8QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow new electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Central Avenue, Herne Bay, in a southerly direction only, on or after 9th September 2024, for up to 18 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in a southerly direction only from the junction with B2205 Sea Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Central Avenue, The Broadway and B2205 Sea Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Dering Road, Bridge, CT4 5NB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow new duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Dering Road, Bridge, on or after 9th September 2024, for up to 12 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Union Road and Filmer Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
This closure is in conjunction with two-way lights on Union Road.
The alternative route is via Dering Road, Union Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Gordon Road, Whitstable, CT5 4FQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow renewal and resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gordon Road, Whitstable, on or after 9th September 2024, for up to 12 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Borstal Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
This closure is in conjunction with highway improvement works on Borstal Hill.
The alternative route is via Gordon Road, Duncan Road, Saddleton Road, B2205 Canterbury Road, Borstal Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hardy Close, Canterbury, CT2 8JF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hardy Close, Canterbury, from 08.00 hours on 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18.00 hours on 11th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Westgate Court Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Manns Hill, Upper Hardres, CT4 6EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow soakaway cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Manns Hill, Upper Hardres, on or after 23rd September 2024, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lynsore Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Manns Hill, The Street, Bossingham Road, Fryarne Park, Pett Bottom Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Reculver Road, Herne Bay, CT6 6TB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow lining works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Reculver Road, Herne Bay, from 10th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 20.00 and 00.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Sweechbridge Road and Reculver Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic:-
Westbound is via Reculver Road, Reculver Lane, Brook Lane, North Stream, A299 Thanet Way, Heart in Hand Road and Sweechbridge Road.
Eastbound is via Sweechbridge Road, May Street, A299 Thanet Way, Brook Lane, Reculver Lane and Reculver Road.
Any vehicles that are larger than 6’6’’ and over 13 tonnes will be safely seen through site when safe to do so as there are restrictions on Brook Lane.

The Street, Barham, CT4 6PA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Barham, on or after 9th September 2024, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Valley Road to the junction with Rectory Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic westbound is via Church Lane, Gravel Castle Road, Brickfield Road and Valley Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via Valley Road, Brickfield Road, Rabbit Hole and Church Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
