What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AND HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames on 27 August 2024 made the following Order The Kinston upon Thames (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 5) Order 2024 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

2. The general effect of the Order will:

(a) reduce and amend certain lengths of parking restrictions to accommodate a:

(b) Pelican crossing in Coombe Lane West located east of Beverley Lane, The overall length of the crossing and regulatory zig-zag markings will be 43.79 metres.

(c) Toucan crossing in Coombe Road outside Nos. 46 to 58 The overall length of the crossing and regulatory zig-zag markings will be 44.9 metres.

(d) Zebra crossing in Latchmere Lane outside Nos. 39 to 45 The overall length of the crossing and regulatory zig-zag markings will be 23.67 metres.

(e) introduce double yellow line waiting restrictions operating at 'at any time' in Latchmere Lane at its junction with Cardinal Avenue.

3. Copies of the Order which will come into force 9 September 2024, the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Order and plans showing the location and the effect of the Order may be inspected as follows:- online at https://www.kingston.gov.uk/unmade-traffic-management-orders selecting reference MapKing0084 - Coombe Lane West, Cooinbe Road and Latchmere Lane Crossings.

(a) The Information and Advice Centre, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU between 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

(b) Council libraries.

(c) Copies of the made Order and plan can also be obtained by calling 020 8547 5000 (between 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays).

(d) By emailing tmo@kingston.gov.uk please quote ref MapKing0084.

4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
