What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN BARLEY, ASHWELL AND SANDON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of B1039 Picknage Road, Barley from its junction with Church End north westwards to its junction with B1368 High Street, a distance of approximately 549m.
An alternative route will be via B1039 (Chishill Road/Barley Road/Hall Lane/Royston Road/ Station Road), B1383 (London Road/High Street/Cambridge Road/London Road/ Newmarket Road), A1301 (unnamed road), A505 (Causeway/unnamed road) and B1368 (Barley Road/Cambridge Road).
2. that length of Ashwell Street, Ashwell from its junction with Kingsland Way south westwards to its junction with Bear Lane, a distance of approximately 297m.
An alternative route will be via Kingsland Way, Silver Street and Bear Lane.
3. that length of Fears Green, Sandon from its junction with Gannock Road north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with North End, a distance of approximately 2551m.
An alternative route will be via C108 (unnamed road), C10 (unnamed road), Sandon Road, Rooks Nest Lane, Hay Green, Police Row, The Causeway, Kelshall Tops and North End. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTWAYS AND FOOTPATH IN ROYSTON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footway ("the Footways") and footpath ("the Footpath"):-
1. the footway situated on the south west side of Downlands, Royston from its junction with Baldock Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Mackerel Hall, a distance of approximately 194m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Baldock Road, the footway situated on the west side of Tannery Drift, the footway situated on the south side of Green Drift and the footway situated on the west and east sides of Mackerel Hall.
2. the footway situated on the north east side of Downlands, Royston from its junction with Mackerel Hall south eastwards for a distance of approximately 172m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east and west sides of Mackerel Hall, the footway situated on the south side of Green Drift, the footway situated on the west side of Tannery Drift and the footway situated on the north side of Baldock Road.
3. the footway situated on boths sides of the road situated to the rear of Nos.58-62 Downlands, Royston from its junction with Downlands north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footway will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. the footway situated on both sides of the road situated to the rear of Nos.78-82 Downlands, Royston from its junction with Downlands north eastwards for its entire length.

5. the footpath situated on the south side of No.2 and No.4 Downlands, Royston from its junction with Downlands north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Baldock Road, a distance of approximately 44m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Downlands and the footway situated on the north side of Baldock Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footways and Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 September 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footways and Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PRIORY CLOSE, ROYSTON) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Priory Close, Royston from its junction with Newmarket Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 123m ("the Road"), except for access. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because the installation of a utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 30 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN
GANNOCK ROAD, SANDON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Gannock Road, Sandon from a point 1507m south east of its junction with A505 Royston Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1330m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Gannock Road, Gannock Lane, A505 Baldock Road, Baldock Road, Therfield Road, Police Row, Hay Green, Rooks Nest Lane, Sandon Road, C10 (unnamed road) and Gannock Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
