What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6955 Sprays Lane, Westfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act

1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sprays Lane – from the junction of C22 Wheel Lane to the junction with U6629 Parsonage Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Wheel Lane – U6629 Parsonage Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 18 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6708 St Marys Lane, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

St Marys Lane – from the junction with A269 Ninfield Road to the junction with U6709 The Ridings.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6708 St Marys Lane – C346 Turkey Road – U6711 Southlands Road – A269 Ninfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 September 2024 and between 23 and 25 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3158 Edward Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Edward Road – from the junction with U3157 Church Road to the junction with U3159 Magdalen Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3157 Church Road – U3158 St Johns Road – U3159 Magdalen Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A21 Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024 No.2

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Sedlescombe Road North – from Dunelm to the boundary with the A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 September 2024 and 31 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U3277 Elim Walk, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow NIO Comm to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure Elim Walk – from no.1 to no.6.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 13 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6953 Telham Lane, Battle) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Telham Lane – from the junction with C93 Forewood Lane to the junction with C27 Powdermill Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C27 Powdermill Lane – A2100 Battle Hill, Hastings Road – C93 Telham Lane and vice versa.

The Order commenced 1 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2244 Junction Road, Staplecross) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Junction Road – from the junction with B2165 Cripps Corner Road to the junction with P6942 Compass Park.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2165 Cripps Corner Road – B2089 Swailes Green, Hooks Beech – A21(T) Vinehall Road, Johns Cross Road, Robertsbridge bypass, Northbridge Street roundabout, Silverhill, London Road – A229 Coopers Corner, Horns Hill – A229 Horns Hill (KCC), Horns Road (KCC) – B2244 Hastings Road (KCC) – B2244 Hawkhurst Road, Junction Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions. On 2 September 2024 On 4 and 5 September 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Junction Road – from the junction with A21 Sedlescombe Road North to the junction with A2100 The Ridge West.

Diversion northbound via A2100 The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway, Combe Valley Way – A2691 Mount View Street – A2036 Wrestwood Road, Hastings Road – A259(T) Glyne Gap roundabout, Hastings Road – A259 Bexhill Road, Grosvenor Crescent, Marina, Grand Parade – A2102 London Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North & southbound via A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Marina, Grosvenor Crescent, Bexhill Road – A259(T) Hastings Road, Glyne Gap roundabout – A2036 Hastings Road, Wrestwood Road – A2691 Mount View Street – A2690 Combe Valley Way, Queensway – A2100 The Ridge West.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 September 2024 and 31 January 2025.

Sedlescombe Road North – from outside Dunelm to the junction with A2100 Junction Road.

Diversion northbound via A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North, Ebdens Hill, Kent Street, Whydown Hill, New Road, Hastings Road, Woodmans Green, Vinehall Road, Johns Cross roundabout – A2100 London Road, Ten Sixty Six roundabout, High Street, Upper Lake, Lower Lake, Battle Hill, Hastings Road, Battle Road, Beauport Park roundabout, The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway, Combe Valley Way – A2691 Mount View Street – A2036 Wrestwood Road, Hastings Road – A259(T) Glyne Gap roundabout,

Diversion northbound via A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North – A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Marina, Grosvenor Crescent, Bexhill Road – A259(T) Hastings Road, Glyne Gap roundabout – A2036 Hastings Road, Wrestwood Road – A2691 Mount View Street – A2690 Combe Valley Way, Queensway – A2100 The Ridge West & southbound via A2100 The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway, Combe Valley Way – A2691 Mount View Street – A2036 Wrestwood Road, Hastings Road – A259(T) Glyne Gap roundabout, Hastings Road – A259 Bexhill Road, Grosvenor Crescent, Marina, Grand Parade – A2102 London Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 September 2024 and 31 January 2025.

Whitworth Road – from the junction with A2100 Junction Road for the full extent of the East Sussex Highways adopted highway.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 September 2024 and 31 January 2025.
