What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7564 Bigknowle Hill, Heathfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Bigknowle Hill – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 16 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 20 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C26 Eastbourne Road, Ridgewood, Uckfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eastbourne Road – from the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road to the Highlands roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C58 Lewes Road – A22 Uckfield bypass and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C214 Witherenden Hill, Burwash) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Witherenden Hill – from the junction with C275 Spring Lane to the junction with C214 Station Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C214 Station Road – C83 Cottenden Road – C212 Battenhurst Road, Shrub Lane – A265 High Street, Paygate, Heathfield Road – C214 Swing Gate Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 13 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C277 North Road, Bodle Street Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

North Road – from the junction with U7604 Trumpets Lane to Pear Tree Cottage.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C277 North Road, Redpale, Bluekiln Road – C18 South Lane – B2096 Woods Corner, Battle Road, Carricks Hill, Earls Down – C279 Rookery Lane – C16 Back Lane, Bodle Street Road, White Horse Road – C277 North Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 and 18 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (Skyline Events London to Brighton Cycle Ride) (Special Event) Order 2024

To enable Skyline Events to hold the London to Brighton cycle event on Sunday 15 September 2024, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 16 A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure – from 00.01hrs to 23.59hrs on 15 September 2024

C203 Upper Beacon Road & C203 Ditchling Road, Ditchling – from the junction of B2112 Clayton Road to the Brighton & Hove county boundary.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic south via Ditchling Road toward Coldean Lane. Turn right onto Coldean Lane. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Carden Avenue. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A27 ramp to Worthing/London/Hove/A23. Merge onto A27. Take the ramp to A23/London/Brighton/Gatwick Airport. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A27. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto London Road/A23. Slight left onto A273. Turn right onto B2112 Clayton Road and vice versa.

The East Sussex (A22 Polegate Road, Hailsham) (Temporary 40 & 20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

To allow Avidety to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to speeds not exceeding 40mph and 20mph:

Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit

A22 Polegate Road, Hailsham – southbound carriageway - from a point 265 metres north of A22 Diplocks roundabout southwards to a point 720 metres north of A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout 

A22 Polegate Road,Hailsham – northbound carriageway - from Tudor Close northwards to a point 10 metres north of A22 Diplocks roundabout

Temporary 20mph Speed Limit

A22 Polegate Road, Hailsham – southbound carriageway - from a point 720 metres north of the A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout southwards to Roadways Depot 

The Order commences 17 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place on 17 and 18 September 2024.

The East Sussex (U5051 The Street, Rodmell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Street – from the junction with C7 Newhaven Road to the junction with U5051 Martens Field.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 4 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5661 Bishops Lane, Ringmer) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting & Parking) Order 2024

To allow Thakeham Homes to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the following lengths of road;

Temporary Prohibition of Waiting & Parking

Bishops Lane – from the junction with B2192 Lewes Road to no. 6. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs Monday to Friday between 2 September 2024 and 20 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7503 Burnt Oak Road, Buxted, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Burnt Oak Road – from the junction with U7861 Tibbs Mill Lane to the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C402 Hurstwood Road – U7861 Fowley Lane, Tibbs Mill Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C483 Alice Bright Lane, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Alice Bright Lane – from the junction with U7487 Stone Cross Road to the junction with C11 Fermor Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7487 Stone Cross Road – U7477 Aldervale Cottages – C11 Fermor Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 and 3 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C1072 Gingers Green, Herstmonceux) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Gingers Green – from the junction with A271 New Road/Hailsham Road to Little Gingers.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C1072 Gingers Green – C344 Stunts Green, West End – A271 Hailsham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 and 3 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C8 School Hill, Barcombe Cross/ Spithurst Road, Barcombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

School Hill/Spithurst Road – from the junction with C659 Barcombe Mills Road to the junction with U5007 Boast Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 Spithurst Road, Newick Park Road – U5653 Cornwells Bank – U5655 Ridgelands Lane, Town Littleworth Road – C205 Cooksbridge Road – C8 High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5916 Roderick Avenue, Peacehaven) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Roderick Avenue – from the junction with U5854 Balcombe Road to the junction with U5848 Firle Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5916 Roderick Avenue – U5845 Heathy Brow – U5931 Ambleside Avenue – U5921 Kirby Drive – U5824 Telscombe Cliffs Way – A259 South Coast Road – U5861 Sutton Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 05:00hrs between 2 and 5 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

(C277 Bluekiln Road/Redpale, Dallington) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Bluekiln Road/Redpale – from the junction with U6276 Padgham Lane to the junction with U6120 Farthing Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C277 Bluekiln Road – C18 Herrings Road, Ponts Green, Church Road, Hammer Hill – A271 Kitchenham Road, Boreham Hill, The Strait – C16 Joes Lane, Victoria Road, The Causeway, White Horse Road – C277 North Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7259 Mount Pleasant/Tollwood Road/ U7169 Blackness Road, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Mount Pleasant/Tollwood Road – from the junction with C11 Walshes Road to the junction with B2100 Crowborough Hill.

Diversion via B2100 Crowborough Hill – C252 Church Road – C11 Croft Road, Whitehill Road, Fermor Road, Walshes Road and vice versa.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 September and 28 October 2024.

Blackness Road – from the junction with U7168 Luxford Road to the junction with U7259 Tollwood Road.

Diversion via C483 Queens Road – U7258 Montargis Way – B2100 Crowborough Hill – U7259 Tollwood Road and vice versa. Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 30 September and 25 October 2024.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.
