THE A30 TRUNK ROAD (PLUSHA TO CANNAFRAME)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A30 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 2 September 2024 and be completed by 8 October 2024.
The effect of the Order will be:
(a) to impose a mandatory 50 mph overnight (20.00 to 06.00) speed limit on the A30 westbound from 516 metres west of Plusha Junction to 451 metres east of Cannaframe Junction;
(b) to impose a mandatory 30 mph overnight (20.00 to 06.00) speed limit on the length of the A30 given at (a) above;
(c) to impose a mandatory 10 mph overnight (20.00 to 06.00) speed limit on the length of the A30 given at (a) above whilst convoy working is taking place;
(d) authorise the overnight (20.00 to 06.00) closure of:
(i) westbound exit and entry slip roads at Five Lanes Junction;
(ii) the A30 westbound between the exit and entry slip roads at Five Lanes Junction;
(iii) the gaps in the central reservation and the westbound laybys between Plusha and Cannaframe Junctions;
(e) prohibit overnight (20.00 to 06.00) U-turns from the A30 eastbound at Plusha Junction;
(f) authorise the 24 hour closure of the westbound entry slip road at Five Lanes Junction;
During the closures, traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A30 and local roads.
The closures (which will not apply to emergency services, traffic officer or works vehicles) speed limits, and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The Order will come into force on 31 August 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
