What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140047115: The City of Manchester (Wavell Road, Woodhouse Park Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic and Temporary Suspension of One-Way) Orders 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Wavell Road and to suspend the One-Way traffic restriction on Wavell Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Brownley Road, Poundswick Lane, Rowlandsway, Simonsway. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate space required for crane lifting operations of large heavy plant and equipment. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 9th September 2024 to the 30th November 2024. The order shall come into operation on the 9th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 30th August 2024. 
ORDER NO. MCC000139960489: The City of Manchester (Cheetham Hill Road, Cheetham Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Cheetham Hill Road, 20m South East of Park Place to junciton of Trinity Way. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate cherry picker access. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 8th September 2024. The order shall come into operation on 8th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
