What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
(NEWCRAIGHALL ROAD/NIDDRIE MAINS ROAD AREA)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC
REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/146
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and drainage improvement works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on: (i) Blackchapel
Close, at its jnct with Newcraighall Rd; (ii) Cleikiminfield, at its jnct with Newcraighall Rd; (iii) Cleikiminrig, at its jnct with Newcraighall Rd; (iv) Niddrie Marischal Rd, at its jnct with Niddrie Mains Rd; (v) Niddrie Mill Ave, at its jnct with Niddrie Mains Rd; (vi) Paterson Pl, at jnct with Niddrie Mains Rd; (vii)
Peacocktail Close, at its jnct with Newcraighall Rd; & (viii)
Whitehill Rd, at its jnct with Newcraighall Rd; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Duddingston Park Sth, from its jnct with Niddrie Mains Rd, northwards for 40m; (ii) Newcraighall Rd, from its jnct with Duddingston Park Sth/The Wisp, generally
eastwards to the east property boundary of No. 60; & (iii) Niddrie Mains Rd, from Niddrie Marischal Rd to Duddingston Park Sth/The Wisp. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (iv) Niddrie Marischal Rd – Niddrie Marischal Rd, Niddrie Marischal Cres, Niddrie Marischal Pl &
Greendykes Rd; (v) Niddrie Mill Ave – Niddrie Mill Ave, Niddrie Mill Drv, Niddrie Mill Pl & Niddrie Mill Cres; & (viii) Whitehill Rd – Whitehill Rd & Newcraighall Rd. The following roads have no available diversion, where local access will be maintained: (i) Blackchapel Close; (ii) Cleikiminfield; (iii) Cleikiminrig; (vi) Paterson Pl; & (vii) Peacocktail Close. The order shall
have effect from 2/9/24 to 20/12/24.
