What is happening?
M27 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 8 TO 10
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M27 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Sections 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to impose a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on –
1. the eastbound carriageway of the M27 between the entry slip at Junction 8 (A3024) and a point 847 metres west of the entry slip at Junction 10 (A32);
2. the westbound carriageway of the M27 between a point 510 metres west of the exit slip at Junction 10 (A32) and a point 100 metres west of the centreline of Coal Park Lane overbridge; and
3. all slip and links roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described in 1. and 2. above.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake construction of new emergency refuge area bays and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 6 months starting on or after Monday 9th September 2024. Please see National Highways website for details.
The Order will come into force on 7th September 2024 and continue until completion of the works.
The temporary speed limit will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
