A49 Trunk Road Between Little Stretton & North Of All Stretton & M54 Jct 7 to Jct 3 - Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) (A) AND (7) THE A49 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN LITTLE STRETTON AND NORTH OF ALL STRETTON, SHROPSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A49 Trunk Road, between Little Stretton and north of All Stretton, in the County of Shropshire, to allow resurfacing work to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to – (1) close the A49 between its junction with the B5477 at Little Stretton, and its junction with the B5477, north of All Stretton;
(2) close any layby adjacent to the length of the A49 described in (1) above; and
(3) prohibit any vehicle for entering or leaving the length of A49 described in (1) above at its junction with any side road.
The work will be carried out at weekends between 20:00 hours on Friday and 06:00 hours on Monday and is expected to start on Friday 20 September 2024 and continue for six weekends.
The Order will come into force on 13 September 2024. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures and prohibition. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Diversion routes via the A5, the A548 and the B4368 and vice versa will be signed.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16A(2)(a) THE M54 MOTORWAY AND A5 TRUNK ROAD (M54 JUNCTION 7 TO JUNCTION 3, SHROPSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO.2) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the M54 Motorway and the A5 Trunk Road, in the County of Shropshire, to allow the Bike 4 Life event to take place. The effect of the Order will be to –
1) close -
a) the eastbound carriageway of the A5 from its roundabout junction with the A49 and A5112 known as Dobbies Roundabout, at Shrewsbury, to its junction with the M54 Motorway at Junction 7, including the circulatory carriageway of the roundabout junctions with the A5064 and the B4380 (Emstrey Roundabout) and the A49 (Preston Roundabout);
b) the eastbound carriageway of the M54 from its junction with the A5 at M54 Junction 7, to its junction with the entry slip road at Junction 3;
c) any slip road leading to the length of the eastbound carriageway of the M54 described at 1) b) above; and
d) the exit slip road leading from the westbound carriageway of the M54 at Junction 3; and
2) prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving the length of the A5 described in 1) a) above at its junction with any side road.
It is expected that the closures will be in operation between 10:00 hours and 13:30 hours on Sunday 1 September 2024.
The Order will come into force on 31 August 2024 and have a maximum duration of 3 days.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the event will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via the A49, A5112, A458, B4380 and via the B5061, A5, A449, Whitchurch Drive, A4640 and alternative junctions of the M54 will be signed. For further information please contact Frank Bird on 07554 439 368
