NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY IN HERTFORDSHIRE
THE HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (HUNSDON 3)
MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above named Order, made on 11th April 2024, was confirmed without modification by Hertfordshire County Council on 18th July 2024.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement by:-

Adding a restricted byway commencing from Hunsdon Restricted Byway 3 at TL 4151 1370 and then running ESE for approximately 40m to a junction with Stanstead Road (public highway) at TL 4155 1368

Downgrading to a restricted byway the public right of way commencing from Hunsdon Restricted Byway 12 at TL 4100 1414 and then running generally SSW past Fillets Farm for approximately 170m to TL 4097 1398

A copy of the confirmed Order may be seen free of charge at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/rowapps, Front Reception of Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Monday to Friday and can be bought from Hertfordshire County Council at a cost of £5. A copy of the confirmed Order and Notice may also be seen at East Herts Council, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/highways-and-parking/public-path-orders.

The Order becomes operative as from the date on which it was confirmed, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or any regulation made thereunder, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act within 42 days from 29th August 2024, make application for the purpose of the High Court.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMILL, DATCHWORTH, HERTFORD AND CROMER) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of A602 Westmill Road, Westmill from its junction with the A10 (unnamed road)/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with the Anchor Lane/B158 Wadesmill Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1619m.

An alternative route will be via A10 (unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/ London Road/Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Road/Cole Green Bypass/ Hatfield Road/Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road), the A1(M) and A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/Ware Road/Tonwell Bypass) or via A602 (Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass/Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), the A1(M), A414 (Great North Road/Hertford Road/Hatfield Road/Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road/ Gascoyne Way/London Road/Rush Green Link) and A10 (unnamed road) or via A10 (unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road/Gascoyne Way/ Hertingfordbury Lane/Cole Green Bypass/Hatfield Road/Hertford Road), A1000 (Hertford Road/Chequers/Broadwater Road/Bessemer Road/Mundells/ Bessemer Road/Hertford Road/Welwyn Bypass Road), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Monkswood Way) and A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/Ware Road/Tonwell Bypass).

2. that length of Bury Lane, Datchworth from its junction with Brookbridge Lane north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Baines Lane, a distance of approximately 1028m.

An alternative route will be via Brookbridge Lane, Datchworth Green, Mardleybury Road, B197 London Road, Swangleys Lane and Baines Lane.

3. that length of Nelson Street, Hertford from its junction with Wellington Street south westwards to its junction with Port Vale, a distance of approximately 90m.

An alternative route will be via Wellington Street and Molewood Road.

4. that length of B1037 White Hill, Cromer from its junction with C14 (unnamed road) north eastwards to its junction with B1037 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 608m.

An alternative route will be via B1037 (White Hill/High Street/Stevenage Road/Fairlands Way), A1155 Verity Way, A1072 Martins Way, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (London Road/High Street), B656 Whitehorse Street, A507 (Clothall Road/unnamed road/Baldock Road) and B1037 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OLD NAZEING ROAD, BROXBOURNE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old Nazeing Road, Broxbourne from its northernmost junction with B194 New Nazeing Road south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 267m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B194 New Nazeing Road and Old Nazeing Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from making a right turn manoeuvre from B194 New Nazeing Road into Old Nazeing Road, Broxbourne whilst works are in progress.

An alternative route will be via B194 New Nazeing Road and Old Nazeing Road.

The Order is needed because utility works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTWAY SITUATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF A121 ELEANOR CROSS ROAD, WALTHAM CROSS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footway situated on the south side of A121 Eleanor Cross Road, Waltham Cross from a point 98m north east of its junction with Longcroft Drive north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Footway”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of A121 Eleanor Cross Road, the footway situated on the east side of Longcroft Drive and the footway situated on the north side of Queens Way.

The Order is needed because utility works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footway.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footway.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WESTLEA CLOSE, WORMLEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Westlea Close, Wormley from its junction with Westlea Road south westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SILVER STREET, GOFFS OAK) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Silver Street, Goffs Oak from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.3 Silver Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 122m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Silver Street, Halstead Hill, B156 (Goffs Lane/ Cuffley Hill), Jones Road and Silver Street.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VICARAGE CAUSEWAY, HERTFORD HEATH) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vicarage Causeway, Hertford Heath from its junction with Hagsdell Lane eastwards for a distance of approximately 37m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Vicarage Causeway, B1197 London Road, Church Hill and Vicarage Causeway.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRAMFIELD LANE, WATERFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bramfield Lane, Waterford from its junction with A119 High Road south westwards to its junction with Main Road, a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A119 (High Road/North Road), Bramfield Road and Tattle Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN CHURCH LANE, WORMLEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Lane, Wormley from its junction with A1170 High Road north westwards to its junction with West End Road, a distance of approximately 1389m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A1170 High Road, Bell Lane, Baas Hill, Spring Walk and Church Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OSBORNE ROAD, BROXBOURNE) ORDER NO.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Osborne Road, Broxbourne from its easternmost junction with St Catharines Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via St Catharines Road and Osborne Road.

The Order is needed because excavation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A119 LONDON ROAD, WARE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A119 London Road, Ware from its junction with John Gilpin Close north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A119 London Road, A1170 (London Road/Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill), A10 (Amwell Link Road/unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road) and A119 (Ware Road/Hertford Road/London Road).

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 50MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HERTFORD AND WARE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from driving at a speed exceeding 50mph on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), when signs are in place:-

1. the A10 northbound slip road leading onto the northbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), Hertford from its junction with the A10 Rush Green roundabout north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with the northbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 678m.

2. the southbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), Ware from a point 1038m north east of its junction with the A602 Westmill Road roundabout south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 3400m.

3. the northbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), Ware from a point 1066m north west of its junction with the A10 Amwell Link Road roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 2712m.

4. the A10 southbound slip road leading onto the southbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), Hertford from its junction with the A602 Westmill Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the southbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 722m.

The Order is needed because bridge works are proposed to be executed near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HERTINGFORDBURY ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER NO.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford from its northernmost junction with St Marys Lane north westwards and northwards for a distance of approximately 159m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Hertingfordbury Road, The Old Coach Road, Birchall Lane, A414 Cole Green Bypass and Hertingfordbury Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 6 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON HIGH STREET,
BUNTINGFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to temporarily suspend the existing 5 tonne weight restriction on High Street, Buntingford from its junction with the Vicarage Road/Ermine Street roundabout south eastwards to its junction with B1038 Baldock Road, a distance of approximately 503m (“the Road”), to enable all vehicles to use this length of road, whilst works are in progress.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because the construction of a new road junction is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
