Nottinghamshire - Temporary Prohibition of Driving
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A6097 EPPERSTONE BYPASS, A6097 OXTON ROAD, A6097 LOWDHAM BYPASS, EPPERSTONE AND LOWDHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (N24-247)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Epperstone and Lowdham in the District of Newark.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road.
a. A6097 Oxton Road, Epperstone - From its junction with Shelt Hill, to its junction with Lowdham Road.
b. A6097 Epperstone Bypass, Lowdham - For its entire length.
c. A6097 Lowdham Bypass, Lowdham - For its entire length.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both Sides) (From 20:00 Hours until 06:00 Hours) in the following length of road.
a. A6097 Oxton Road, Epperstone - From its junction with Shelt Hill, to its junction with Lowdham Road.
b. A6097 Epperstone Bypass, Lowdham - For its entire length.
c. A6097 Lowdham Bypass, Lowdham - For its entire length.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 20:00 Hours, Sunday 1st September 2024 Until 06:00 Hours, Monday 2nd December 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: a. A612 Nottingham Road - A6211 Colliery Way - B684 Mapperley Plains - A614 Ollerton Road - B6386 Oxton Road and vice versa The Order will come into force on Sunday 1st September 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
