VARIOUS ROADS, CREWKERNE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ORDER 2024
ST BARTHOLOMEW’S FAIR (CREWKERNE FAIR
Notice is hereby given that on the 23rd day of August 2024 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 15th day of August 2024, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions in the roads specified in the Schedules below.
The restrictions for the St Bartholomew’s Fair (Crewkerne Fair) event will commence at 1600 hours on Thursday 5th September 2024 and will continue in force until 1800 hours on Sunday 8th September 2024. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles, residents requiring access and egress and any vehicles associated with the event.

SCHEDULE 1
Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles between the hours of 1600 on Thursday 5th September 2024 and 1800 on Sunday 8th September 2024
A356 North Street, Crewkerne (south bound carriageway only) – From its junction with Ashlands Road in a southerly direction to the junction with Market Square Market Square, Crewkerne (East Side of Town Hall) – From its junction with A356 North Street in a southerly direction to the junction with A30 East Street
A30 Church Street, Crewkerne (southern side of Carriageway only) – From its junction with Market Street and Market Square in a westerly direction for a distance of 53 metres
Market Street, Crewkerne (Northbound Carriageway) – From its junction with South Street in a northerly direction to the junction with Church Street for a distance of 137 metres
A30, Market Square (north side of carriageway only) – From a point 25 metres northeast of its junction with Church Street, for a distance of 90 metres in a north easterly direction

Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn between the hours of 1600 on Thursday 5th September 2024 and 1800 on Sunday 8th September 2024
A30 East Street, Crewkerne – From its junction on to the A356 Market Square (West Side of Town Hall)
Abbey Street, Crewkerne – From its junction on to A356 North Street (allowing a left turn only)
A356 South Street, Crewkerne – From its junction on to Market Street(allowing a left turn only)
A30 Church Street, Crewkerne – From its junction on to Market Street (allowing a left turn only)

Temporary Suspension of Parking Bays between the hours of 1600 on Thursday 5th September 2024 and 1800 on Sunday 8th September 2024
Closure of parking bays along Market Street, Market
Square and Church Street, Crewkerne Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) or because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
