C161 Higher Lane And C163 Lees Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Carrying Out Of The Works

(C161 HIGHER LANE AND C163 LEES LANE, DALTON, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice. 1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the West Lancashire Borough:-

i. C161 Higher Lane, Dalton from the Northern boundary of the property named Grange Farm to the access road to the property named Oakwood Cottage.
ii. C163 Lees Lane, Dalton from C161 Higher Lane, Dalton to the North West boundary of the property named Roseheath.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours until 1700 hours on Thursday 15th August 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. Alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-

C163 Lees Lane, Dalton
U645 Dungeon Lane, Dalton – C161 Higher Lane, Dalton – C161 Beacon Lane, Dalton – C161 Mill Lane, Up Holland – A577 Ormskirk Road, Up Holland – A577 Newgate Road, Up Holland – A577 Windmill Road, Up Holland – A577 Stannanought Road, Skelmersdale – A577 Houghtons Road, Skelmersdale – C152 Glenburn Road, Skelmersdale – C160 Cobbs Clough Road, Skelmersdale – C160 Cobbs Brow Lane, Newburgh – A5209 Ash Brow, Newburgh and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow vegetation management works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
