THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL
(KER ROAD, MILNGAVIE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

On the 29 August 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works, and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on Ker Road, Milngavie between its junctions with Kelvin Road and Craigton Gardens, Milngavie, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.

The Order will operate from 06.00 hours on Monday, 16 September 2024 until 18.00 hours on Monday, 30 September 2024.

Alternative Routes

The alternative routes will be by way of Kelvin Road, Craigash Road, Craigton Gardens, and Craigend Drive West, Milngavie and these routes will be signposted.

(CANNIESBURN TOLL ROUNDABOUT, BEARSDEN ETC.)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

On the 29 August 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged in the works and vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed sections of road when it is safe and practical to do so) on the sections of roads and during the times detailed in the Schedule below, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.

In connection with this Order, the prohibition of driving on the access road to the former Canniesburn Hospital, Bearsden so as to make a right-hand turn onto the A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden detailed in “The East Dunbartonshire Council

(Junction of the Access Road to the Former Canniesburn Hospital and the A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden) (Prohibition of Right Turn) Order 2004”, shall be suspended from 00.01 hours on Thursday, 12 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.

SCHEDULE

1.   Southbound carriageway of A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden between its junctions with the Canniesburn Road and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden.           
     Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday, 08 September 2024.
    Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Drymen Road, Bearsden; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; Main Street, Milngavie; the A81 Milngavie Road; and Maryhill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

2.   Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden between the southbound carriageway of the A809 Drymen Road and the southeast carriageway of Maryhill Road, Bearsden.
      Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday, 08 September 2024.
      Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Drymen Road, Bearsden; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; Main Street, Milngavie; the A81 Milngavie Road; and Maryhill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

3.   South-eastbound carriageway of Maryhill Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Canniesburn Toll roundabout and A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden           
     Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Sunday, 08 September 2024.
    Alternative Routes: The alternative routes will be by way of Canniebsurn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden; Drymen Road, Bearsden; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; Park Road, Millngavie; Main Street, Milngavie; the A81 Milngavie Road; and Maryhill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

4.   MacFarlane Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Canniesburn Toll Roundabout and A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden.
      Duration of closure: The above length of road is currently closed until 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 and this closure will continue to operate until 23.59 hours on Sunday, 08 September 2024.
      Alternative Routes: The alternative routes will be by way of Canniebsurn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden; Drymen Road, Bearsden; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; Park Road, Millngavie; Main Street, Milngavie; the A81 Milngavie Road; and Maryhill Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

5.   Moore Drive, Bearsden from its junction with MacFarlane Road, Bearsden north-westwards for a distance of 10 metres or thereby.
      Duration of closure: The above length of road is currently closed until 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 and this closure will continue to operate until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
      Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Gray Drive, Bearsden; and Moore Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be signposted.

6.   Unnamed Service Road adjacent to Drymen Road, Bearsden from its junction with A809 Drymen Road northwards for a distance of 10 metres or thereby.  
      Duration of closure: The above length of road is currently closed until 18.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024 and this closure will continue to operate until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
     Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Gray Drive, Bearsden; and Moore Drive, Bearsden, and these routes will be signposted.

7.   Northwestbound carriageway of Maryhill Road, Bearsden between its junctions with the A81 Milngavie Road and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden.
      Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 00.01 hours on Monday, 09 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
     Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of the MacFarlane Road, Bearsden; the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden; Main Street, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Baljaffray Road, Bearsden; the A810 Duntocher Road, Bearsden; the A810 Glasgow Road; the A8014 Kilbowie Road, Hardgate; and the A81 Great Western Road, and these routes will be signposted.

8.   Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden between its junctions with the southbound carriageway of the A739 Switchback Road /Maryhill Road and the extended east kerbline of the northbound carriageway of the A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden.
      Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 00.01 hours on Monday, 09 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
     Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of the MacFarlane Road, Bearsden; the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden; Main Street, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Baljaffray Road, Bearsden; the A810 Duntocher Road, Bearsden; the A810 Glasgow Road; the A8014 Kilbowie Road, Hardgate; and the A81 Great Western Road, and these routes will be signposted.

9.   Northbound carriageway of A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Canniesburn Toll Roundabout and Canniesburn Road, Bearsden.
      Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 00.01 hours on Thursday, 12 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
      Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden; MacFarlane Road, Bearsden; the A81 Milngavie Road, Bearsden; Main Street, Milngavie; Park Road, Milngavie; the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Milngavie; the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; and the A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden, and these routes will be sign posted.

10. Northbound carriageway of A739 Switchback Road, Bearsden between its junctions with Canniesburn Drive and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden.
     Duration of closure: This closure will operate from 00.01 hours on Thursday, 12 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday, 23 September 2024.
     Alternative routes: The alternative routes are by way of the A739 Crow Road, Anniesland; Anniesland Road, Anniesland; the A82 Great Western Road; the A8014 Kilbowie Road, Hardgate; the A810 Glasgow Road; Duntocher Road; the A809 Drymen Road; and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, and these routes will be signs posted.  The northbound lane of the A739 Switchback Road between Canniesburn Drive and Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, Bearsden, will also be used by way of a temporary contraflow system under the control of temporary six way traffic signals, from 00.01 on Thursday 12 September 2024 until 23.59 hours on Monday 23 September 2024.  The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled at all times.

THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL
(DESIGNATED DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACES AND AMENDMENTS) ORDER 2024

On Tuesday, 27 August 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 which comes into operation on Monday, 02 September 2024.

The proposed Order was advertised in the editions of the Bishopbriggs Herald, the Kirkintilloch Herald and the Milngavie & Bearsden Herald published week commencing 11 March 2024. The main effect of the Order will be the introduction of and removal of designated parking places for the leaving of a vehicle displaying a disabled persons’ badge. Such designated parking places will be introduced on the following list of roads:

1.   New Kirk Road and Orchy Crescent within Bearsden;

2.   Buchanan Crescent, Colston Path, Dene Walk, Fettercairn Gardens, Larch Avenue, Kincardine Drive, and Martyr’s Place within Bishopbriggs;

3.   Alloway Gardens, Banks Road, Braehead Street, Carrick Court, David Gray Drive, Doon Road, Eildon Road, Hillhead Road, Highfield Avenue, Marmion Drive, Mauchline Avenue, Meiklehill Loan, Oxford Street, Regent Street, and Whitehill Avenue within Kirkintilloch;

4.   Clachan of Campsie Road, Crosshill Street, Lindsay Terrace, and Slatefield within Lennoxtown;

5.   Craigdhu Road and Keystone Avenue within Milngavie;

6.   James Leeson Court and Scott Avenue within Milton of Campsie;

7.   School Road within Torrance;

8.   Alexander Avenue within Twechar; and

9.   Taig Road within Waterside.

Such designated parking places will be removed on the following list of roads:

1.   Kinglas Road within Bearsden;

2.   Larch Avenue, Letham Oval, and Villafield Drive within Bishopbriggs;

3.   Alloway Drive, Alloway Quadrant, Clarinda Court, Newdyke Road and Westergreens Avenue within Kirkintilloch;

4.   Bencloich Road within Lennoxtown;

5.   Graham Drive and Hilton Road within Milngavie;

6.   Hillside Terrace within Milton of Campsie; and

7.   MacDonald Crescent within Twechar.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision therein on grounds that the Order is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 27 August 2024 make an application to the Court of Session for this purpose.
