What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Ely Road (A10), Landbeach (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-912

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ely Road (A10), Landbeach as lies between Waterbeach Road and Ely Old Road Alignment.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A10 – A14 – A142 – A10 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 2 September to 14 October 2024.

High Ditch Road, Fen Ditton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1172

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Ditch Road, Fen Ditton as lies between the B1047 and Low Fen Drove Way.

The alternative route for vehicles is via High Ditch Road – A1303 – B1047 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate bridge repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 13 September 2024.

High Street (C233), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-1173

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on High Street (C233), Cambridge as lies between Chelwood Road and Fishers Lane. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993Schedule 23 – Cycle lane, Part 3 – Mandatory with-flow cycle lane in which loading is permitted High Street – On its west side from a point 7 metres north of the centreline of Chelwood Road to a point 14 metres south of the centreline of Fisher’s Lane.

High Street – On its east side from a point 15 metres north of the centreline of Chelwood Road to a point 16 metres south of the centreline of Fisher’s Lane is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate defect repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 28 October 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 27 April 2026 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on High Street (C233), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 28 October and 1 November 2024.

Cow Lane, Fulbourn (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1174

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cow Lane, Fulbourn as lies between Pierce Lane and Apthorpe Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Pierce Lane – Apthorpe Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footway, kerb refurbishment and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 November 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 May 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 07:30hrs and 18:30hrs 11 November to 13 December 2024.

Coles Lane, Oakington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1176

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Coles Lane, Oakington as lies between High Street and Longstanton Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Longstanton Road – Water Lane – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sluice valve repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 17 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 September and 19 September 2024.

Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-1177

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge as lies between Botanic House and number 112.

During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lane: Part 2 mandatory with flow cycle lane, Hills Road On its west side from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Avenue to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman Street is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installing ducting, HV cables and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 20 April 2026 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21 October and 25 October 2024.

Bateson Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1178

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bateson Road, Cambridge as lies between numbers 39 and 59.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Bateson Road.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 10 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 9 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 10 September and 13 September 2024.

Mere Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1180

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mere Way, Cambridge as lies between Arbury Road and Ellesmere Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Arbury Road – A1309 – A1134 – Carlton Way – Mere Way and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 13 September 2024.

Olmstead Green, Castle Camps (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1182

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Olmstead Green, Castle Camps as lies between Bolts Hill and Sages End Road, Helions Bumpstead.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Bolts Hill – Church Lane – Batlow Road – Park Lane – Drapers Green, Helions Bumpstead – Camps Road – Sages End Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pot hole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 7 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 6 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:00hrs and 16:00hrs 7 September 2024.

Green Side (C211), Waterbeach (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1189

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Green Side (C211), Waterbeach as lies between numbers 8a and 18.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Green Side (C211) – Green Side – Chapel Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 13 September 2024.

Canterbury Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1190

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Canterbury Street, Cambridge as lies between number 79 and Priory Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Canterbury Street – Halifax Road – A1307 – Priory Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate defect repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 10 September 2024.

Clay Close Lane, Impington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1197

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Clay Close Lane, Impington as lies between Mallow Cottage and Burgoynes Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Clay Close Lane – Burgoynes Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 2 September and 6 September 2024.

Barton Road (A603), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 24-1199

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Barton Road (A603), Cambridge as lies between Kings Road and St Marks Court.

During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 22 Dual Use cycle track Barton Road, the footway on its north side from its junction with Newnham Road to its junction with Grantchester Road is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 22 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21 March 2026 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Barton Road (A603), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 22 September 2024.

Station Road (C186), Swavesey (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1206

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road (C186), Swavesey as lies between numbers 12 and 26.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Station Road (C186) – High Street – Middle Watch – Ramper Road – Ramper Road, Longstanton – Over Road (C191) – Gravel Bridge Road, Over – Longstanton Road – West Street – New Road – Station Road – Over Road, Swavesey – Station Road (C186) and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 2 September and 6 September 2024.

Harvey Goodwin Avenue, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1209

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Harvey Goodwin Avenue, Cambridge as lies between number 28 and Hale Avenue.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Harvey Goodwin Avenue – Stretten Avenue – Hale Avenue and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 24 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 23 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 24 September and 27 September 2024.

Searle Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1211

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Searle Street, Cambridge as lies between numbers 36 and 62.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Searle Street – Victoria Road – Fisher Streer and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 October 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 October and 4 October 2024.

Baldock Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1213

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Baldock Way, Cambridge as lies between Hills Avenue and Cavendish Avenue.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Cavendish Avenue – A1307 – Hills Avenue and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 11 September 2024.

Kendal Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1222

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Kendal Way, Cambridge as lies between number 106 and the A1309.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Kendal Way – Green End Road – A1309 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sewer connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 30 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 29 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 30 September and 11 October 2024.

High Street, Barton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1224

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Barton as lies between number 55 and Mailes Close.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A603 – B1046 – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate manhole repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 23 September and 27 September 2024.

High Street, Milton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1226

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Milton as lies between Ely Road (C282) and Landbeach Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Ely Road (C282) – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 24 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 23 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 24 September and 26 September 2024.

High Street (B1052), Linton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC and (TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER) ORDER 2024-1236

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street (B1052), Linton as lies between the Fire Station and Green Lane.

During the period this Order remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council (High Street and Back Road, Linton) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2006, Lengths of road in the District of South Cambridgeshire Parish of Linton, High Street, from its junction with Balsham Road to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Coles Lane, East to west is hereby suspended.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1052 – A1307 – Horseheath Road (C242) and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 24 October 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 23 April 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 14:30hrs 24 October to 25 October 2024.

Corn Exchange Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1238

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Corn Exchange Street, Cambridge as lies between Primo Cycles and Wheeler Street.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate roof, guttering repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19:00hrs and 23:00hrs 2 September to 4 September 2024.

Access Road to Spicers from A1301, Sawston (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1239

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Access Road to Spicers from A1301, Sawston as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 14 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 13 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs 14 September to 15 September 2024.

Cambridge Road, Fulbourn (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1240

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cambridge Road, Fulbourn as lies between number 51 and Hinton Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Queen Ediths Way, Cambridge – Limekiln Road – Worts Causeway – Shelford Road, Fulbourn – Cambridge Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunication and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 23 September to 27 September 2024.

Cambridge Footpath 42, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-1242

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Cambridge Footpath 42, Cambridge as lies between the bowling green and Bentley Road.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate tree maintenance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 March 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 September and 13 September 2024.

Station Road, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1255

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Great Shelford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Hinton Way – A1307 – Granhams Road, Cambridge – Granhams Road, Great Shelford – A1301 – Station Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 10 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 9 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 00:01hrs and 04:30hrs 10 September to 11 September 2024.

Coldhams Lane, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1258

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Coldhams Lane, Cambridge as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134 – Cherry Hinton Road (C235) – High Street (C233) – Coldhams Lane and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 22:00hrs 23 September and 05:00hrs 24 September 2024.

Park Lane, Histon (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1260

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Park Lane, Histon as lies between Park Avenue and Harding Way.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Park Lane – New Road – Cambridge Road, Oakington – Dry Drayton Road – A1307 – B1049 – The Green, Histon – High Street – School Hill and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 23 September and 25 September 2024.

Station Road and Newton Road, Harston (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1289

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road and Newton Road, Harston as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Newton Road – Harston Road, Newton – B1368 – A10 – Station Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 September 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 March 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 13 September and 16 September 2024.

Scotland Road, Dry Drayton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1292

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Scotland Road, Dry Drayton as lies between Hardwick Interchange and High Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Park Street (C193) – Oakington Road – A1307 – Castle Street (C290), Cambridge – A1303 – St Neots Road, Comberton – St Neots Road, Hardwick and vice versa.
