LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 19 August 2024 made the following Order The Sutton (Speed Limit) (20mph) (Morton Gardens Area, Wellington) (No. 1) Order 2024 under sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 19841, as amended -

The general effect of the Order would be to impose a 20mph speed limit in, Alcester Road, Arran Close, Belmont Road, Bond Gardens, Bridge Road, Bute Gardens, Bute Gardens West, Bute Road, Clifford Avenue, Clifford Road, Clifton Road, Crichton Avenue, Danbury Mews, Darcy Avenue, Dell Close, Demesne Road between its junction with Croydon Road and Ross Road, Eastway Evelyn Way, Ferrers Avenue, Goidel Close, Grassway, Greenway, Harcourt Field, Harcourt Road, Iberian Avenue, Lytton Gardens, Maldon Road, Melbourne Road, Montagu Gardens, Morton Gardens, Northway, Osmond Gardens. Oxford Road, Park Road, Wallington, Plough Lane Close, Queen Elizabeth's Walk, Queenswood Avenue, Raleigh Avenue, Rectory Lane, Rockwood Avenue, Royston Avenue, Sandhills, Southway, Spring Gardens, St. Christopher's Mews, Stannet Way, The Bridle Way, The Holt and The Manor Way.

3. A copy of the Order that will come into force on 2 September 2024, of the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the Council's Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA. Copies can also be obtained by calling 020 8770 5000.

4. If Any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of the provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
