Cumbria, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2144 WIGTON AND U1177 AGLIONBY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U2144 Wigton, from its junction with the C2048 Syke Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 40m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2144, A595, B5304 and C2048 Syke Road.
Duration: From 27 August 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref TTROC/11618)
2. U1177 Aglionby, from its western junction with the A69, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 20m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1177 and A69.
Duration: From 9 September 2024 for approx. 12 days (Ref TTROC/11841)

The Order will come into operation on 27 August 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
