What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, CARLTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (G24-113)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Carlton in the Borough of Gedling.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Vernon Avenue, Carlton - From its junction with Blackhill Drive to its junction with Duncroft Avenue
b. Ranmoor Road, Carlton - From its junction with Main Road to its junction with Vernon Avenue
c. Frederick Avenue, Carlton - From its junction with B686 Carlton Hill to its junction with Albert Avenue
d. Hillview Road, Carlton - From its junction with Standhill Road to its junction with Ernest Road
e. Morley Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road to its junction with Standhill Road
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Vernon Avenue, Carlton - From its junction with Blackhill Drive to its junction with Duncroft Avenue
b. Ranmoor Road, Carlton - From its junction with Main Road to its junction with Vernon Avenue
c. Frederick Avenue, Carlton - From its junction with B686 Carlton Hill to its junction with Albert Avenue
d. Hillview Road, Carlton - From its junction with Standhill Road to its junction with Ernest Road
e. Morley Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road to its junction with Standhill Road
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 09:00 hours Friday 23rd August 2024
Until 15:30 hours Friday 25th October 2024 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Vernon Avenue, Carlton - Blackhill Drive - Gedling Road - Main Road - Duncroft Avenue - Vernon Avenue and vice versa
b. Ranmoor Road, Carlton - Ranmoor Road - Vernon Avenue - Blackhill Drive - Gedling Road - Main Road - Ranmoor Road and vice versa
c. Frederick Avenue, Carlton - Frederick Avenue - B686 Carlton Hill - Albert Avenue - Frederick Avenue and vice versa
d. Hillview Road, Carlton - Hillview Road - Foxhill Road West - Standhill Road - Forester Grove - Porchester Road - Florence Road - Hillview Road and vice versa
e. Morley Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road to its junction with Standhill Road
The Order will come into force on Friday 23rd August 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway patching works;
