What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC139792452: The City of Manchester (Aberdare Walk, Higher Blackley Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrian traffic on Aberdare Walk.

The alternative routes for pedestrian traffic will be: Kibworth Walk, Brockford Drive, Chilcombe Walk. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate New service connection and disconenction.

It is expected that the works will be in progress from 29th August 2024 to 4th September 2024. The order shall come into operation on 29th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of six months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC000 139044420: The City of Manchester (Bridgewater Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Right-Hand Turn) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit the right-hand turn from junction with Deansgate. The alternative routes for traffic will be Deansgate, Great Bridgewater Street, Albion Street, Whitworth Street West, Bridgewater Viaduct. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Bridge Inspections. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th August 2024 to 28th August 2024 between the hours of 21:00 and 06:30. The order shall come into operation on 27th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
