What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U2061 Wish Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wish Road – from the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road to the junction with A259 South Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic via A259 South Street – U2060 Hardwick Road – U2056 Blackwater Road or via U2056 Blackwater Road – U2062 Cornfield Lane – A259 South Street.
The Order commences 9 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2036 Arlington Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Trenchline Utilities to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Arlington Road – from the junction with U2036 Old Orchard Road to the junction with U2036 Dittons Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2036 Dittons Road – U2037 Southfields Road – U2036 Old Orchard Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 and 30 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2236 Mountfield Road/Brassey Avenue, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Mountfield Road/Brassey Avenue – 40 metres either side of the level crossing.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2236 Mountfield Road – U2231 Mountfield Road roundabout – U2226 Lottbridge Drove, Marshall roundabout, Lottbridge Road – A2280 Cross Levels Way, Broadwater roundabout, Cross Levels Way, Upperton Farm roundabout, Cross Levels Way – A2021 Rodmill roundabout, Kings Drive – U2236 Decoy Drive, Nevill Avenue, Brassey Avenue and vice versa.
The Order commenced 28 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 and 26 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
