What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 SWALE AREA

Callaways Lane, Newington, ME9 7LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Callaways Lane, Newington, on or after 18th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bull Lane, Playstool Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Jade Close, Sittingbourne, ME10 5AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Jade Close, Sittingbourne, from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Lane, Iwade.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Iwade, from 2nd September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via School Lane, Ferry Road, Sheppey Way, Grovehurst Avenue, Sheppey Way, Key Street roundabout, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 Hartlip Hill, Otterham Quay Lane, Horsham Lane, Forge Lane, The Street, Sheerness Road, Basser Hill and School Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Queenborough.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Queenborough, on or after 2nd September 2024, with estimated completion by 21st October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

WORKS SCHEDULE

B2007 Main Road, Queenborough

B2007 Main Road will be closed from 2nd September 2024, with estimated completion by 14th October 2024.

The road will be closed between the A249 Brielle Way and Sterling Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A249 Brielle Way, B2007 Whiteway Road, North Road, Railway Terrace and vice versa.

Harold Street, Queenborough

Harold Street will be closed from 2nd September 2024, with estimated completion by 15th September 2024.

The road will be closed at the junction with B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Sterling Road, Queenborough

Sterling Road will be closed from 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd September 2024.

The road will be closed at the junction with B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Stanley Avenue, Queenborough

Stanley Avenue will be closed from 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 29th September 2024.

The road will be closed at the junction with B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Borough Road, Queenborough

Borough Road will be closed from 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 29th September 2024.

The road will be closed at the junction with B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

A250 Queenborough Road, Halfway

A250 Queenborough Road will be closed from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 21st October 2024.

The road will be closed between Queenborough Road and B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Vehicles will be unable to turn left onto B2007 Main Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A249 Brielle Way and B2007 Main Road.

B2007 Main Road, Queenborough

B2007 Main Road will be closed from 7th October 2024, with estimated completion by 21st October 2024.

The road will be closed for vehicles travelling west only between A250 Queenborough Road and A249 Brielle Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A250 Queenborough Road and A249 Brielle Way.
