Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford, from turning right at the exit of Warren Retail Park from 19.00 hours on 18th September 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 19th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
Traffic will be temporarily prohibited from turning right at the exit of Warren Retail Park. A diversion route will direct traffic exiting Warren Retail Park for those wishing to travel west bound.
This restriction is in conjunction with a lane closure on the west bound carriageway of A28 Simone Weil Avenue.
The alternative route is via A28 Simone Weil Avenue, Canterbury Road, Magazine Road, New Street, Chart Road, Maidstone Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout and Simone Weil Roundabout.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2067 Bonnington Road, Bonnington & Bonnington Road, Bilsington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2067 Bonnington Road, Bonnington & Bonnington Road, Bilsington, from 5th September 2024, with estimated completion by 6th September 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Frogmore Lane to the junction with Priory Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Ashford Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, Forge Hill, New Road Hill, Boat Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Blind Lane, Mersham, TN25 6NU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Blind Lane, Mersham, on or after 16th September 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the entrance to Jemmett Meadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Kingsford Street, Bower Road and Church Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Lane, Shadoxhurst, TN26 1LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow cover and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Shadoxhurst, on or after 16th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Duck Lane and the junction with Woodchurch Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Lane, Longrope, Birchett Lane, Hamstreet Road, Hornash Lane, Woodchurch Road, Church Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Lane, Shadoxhurst, TN26 1LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Shadoxhurst, from 5th September 2024, with estimated completion by 6th September 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Nickley Wood Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Lane, Longrope, Birchett Lane, Hamstreet Road, Hornash Lane, Woodchurch Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Willesborough, TN24 0YR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Willesborough, from 19.00 hours on 3rd September 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 4th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Park Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Road, A292 Hythe Road, Hunter Road, Osborne Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cudworth Road, Willesborough, TN24 0BB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cudworth Road, Willesborough, on or after 16th September 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 101, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hambrook Lane, Chilham, CT4 8EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow pole testing works to be carried out Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hambrook Lane, Chilham, from 18th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Bagham Road and the junction with School Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via The Street, The Square, School Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ninn Lane, Great Chart. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ninn Lane, Great Chart, on or after 16th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Ninn Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Chart Road, Great Chart Bypass, Chart Road Roundabout, Templer Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout, Godinton Lane, Worten Road, Ninn Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Plain Road, Smeeth, TN25 6FA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Plain Road, Smeeth, from 4th September 2024, with estimated completion by 5th September 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Ashtree House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Plain Road, Woolpack Hill, Church Road, A20 Hythe Road, A20 Main Road, Stone Hill, Plain Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Redbrook Street, Woodchurch. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow fire hydrant repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Redbrook Street, Woodchurch, on or after 18th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Grove Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Redbrook Street, Plurenden Road, Bethersden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Hothfield. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Hothfield, on or after 3rd September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A20 Maidstone Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A20 Maidstone Road, Cades Road, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Susan’s Hill, Woodchurch. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Susans Hill, Woodchurch, from 16th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Haycross Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Haycross Lane, Swain Road, B2067 Brook Street, Front Road, Back Lane, Bethersden Road, Susans Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Little Chart, TN27 0QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Little Chart, on or after 18th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Fairview’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Calehill Road (known as The Street), Pluckley Road, Charing Road, Swan Lane, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Westwell, TN25 4LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Westwell, on or after 3rd September 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Wheel Inn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via The Street, Watery Lane, A20 Maidstone Road, Westwell Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Ashford, from 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

Kingsnorth Road will be closed from 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 11th October 2024.
The road will be closed at the junction with Hampden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stanhope Road, Knoll Lane, B2229 Brookfield Road and B2229 Beaver Lane.
Hampden Road, Ashford - permit number XW015W120294478-00539
Hampden Road will be closed from 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 15th November 2024.
The road will be closed between the junction with Kingsnorth Road and the junction with Austin Road/Wotton Road & Tennyson Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Phase 1 - the diversion route northbound is via Hampden Road and Hampden Lane.
Phase 1 - the diversion route southbound ia via Kingsnorth Road and Tennyson Road.
Phase 2 & 3 - the diversion route is via Kingsnorth Road, Tennyson Road and vice versa.
The works will be in conjunction with two-way temporary traffic lights on Tennyson Road and Hampden Lane.
Austin Road, Ashford - permit number XW015W120302735-00043
Austin Road will be closed from 6th January 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2025.
The road will be closed from the junction with Hampden Road/Hampden Lane & Ridgen Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Hampden Lane, Ashford - permit number XW015W120305038-00538
Hampden Lane will be closed from 6th January 2025, with estimated completion by 7th February 2025.
The road will be closed from the junction with Austin Road to the junction with Kingsnorth Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hampden Road and Kingnorth Road.
Kingsnorth Road, Ashford - permit number XW015W120305824-00665
Kingsnorth Road will be closed from 3rd February 2025, with estimated completion by 14th February 2025.
The road will be closed at the junction with Hampden Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic to Hampden Lane is via Hampden Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic to Kingsnorth Road is via Stanhope Road, Knoll Lane, B2229 Brookfield Road and B2229 Beaver Lane.
Footpath from Cade Road to Park Place, Ashford - permit number XW015W120305772-01955
The footpath from Cade Road to Park Place will be closed from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 21st March 2025.
The footpath will be closed between Park Place and Ridgen Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through pedestrians is via Park Place, Mortimor Close & Cade Road.

Kingsnorth Road will be closed from 17th March 2025, with estimated completion by 4th April 2025.
The road will be closed at the junction with Cade Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stanhope Road, Knoll Lane, B2229 Brookfield Road and B2229 Beaver Lane.
