What is happening?

ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames made on 19 August 2024 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 , as amended the following Order -

The Kinston upon Thames (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 10) Order 2024.

2. The general effect of the Order will amend the existing Controlled Parking Zone hours of operation in St Andrew's Square, Surbiton as follows:-

(a) Change the hours during which permit holders and pay and display parking operates in shared-use parking places so that both types of parking would operate between 8am and 6.30pm Mondays to Saturdays.

(b) Change the hours of single yellow line waiting restrictions to operate between 8am and 6.30pm Mondays to Saturdays.

NOTE: the proposal to provide a secure bicycle parking facility (cycle hangar) opposite No 6 St Andrew's Square in place of part of an existing Permit Holders Bay advertised on 14 March 2024 has been withdrawn.

3. Copies of the Order, which will come into effect on 2 September 2024, the Council's Statement of Reason for making the Order and map schedule may be inspected as follows:-

(a) Online at https://www.kingston.gov.uk/unmade-traffic-management-orders under reference MapKing 0092 - St Andrew's Square.

(b) The Information and Advice Centre, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday inclusive.

(c) Council libraries

(d) A copy of the made Order can also be obtained by calling 020 8547 5000 (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday).

(e) By emailing tmo@kingston.gov.uk (please quote

ref MapKing0092).

4. If any person wishes to question the validity of these Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
