A42 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Cyclical Maintenance Works

THE A42 TRUNK ROAD (APPLEBY MAGNA TO DISEWORTH, LEICESTERSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A42 Trunk Road, in the County of Leicestershire, to enable cyclical maintenance works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at different times, the laybys adjacent to the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A42 between the junction with the M42, near Appleby Magna and the roundabout junction with the A453 and the M1 Junction 23a slip roads, at Diseworth.
The layby closures will be carried out weekdays only between 13:00 hours and 06:00 hours and are expected to start on Thursday 12 September and continue for approximately two weeks. The Order will come into force on 9 September 2024.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
