What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Old Hall Road, Steeple Bumpstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Hall Road, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 710m north west of the junction with Whitehouse Farm Link for a distance of approximately 90m in a northerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th September 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH10004106 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ground investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Old Hall Road, Whitehouse Farm Link, Birdbrook Road, Cornish Hall End Road, Stambourne Road, Cornish Hall End, Finchingfield Road, Old Hall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
