Somerset, Temporary Road Closures Due To Water Works

What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Burrowbridge Temporary Closure of Glastonbury Road, School Lane and Riverside

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Glastonbury Road - from the junction with School Lane to the junction with Moorland Road; School Lane - from the junction with Riverside to the junction with Glastonbury Road; and Riverside -from the junction with Riverside to the junction with Glastonbury Road. A total distance of 259 metres. This Order will enable Envolve Infrastructure to locate water main with trial holes ahead of main replacement on behalf of Wessex Water.

The Order becomes effective on 22nd August 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 27th August 2024 and last until 28th August 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 2 days.
