Chichester Area - Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulations and Closures
What is happening?

(Boxgrove, East Dean, Lavant, Westhampnett & Singleton:
Goodwood Revival 2024) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: -
(i) Prohibit vehicles from travelling along: Claypit Lane, from Madgwick Lane northwards to New Road; Kennel Hill Road, from New Road northwards to Racecourse Road; Lower Road, from Fordwater Road northwards to Pook Lane; Madgwick Lane, from Old Place Lane north-eastwards to
Claypit Lane; New Road, from Claypit Lane eastwards to the A285; Pook Lane, from Fordwater Road eastwards to Kennel Hill Road; Redvins Road, from the A285 to New Barn Hill; Waterbeach Road, from New Road northwards to Hat Hill Road; Westerton Lane, from New Road to Claypit Lane; and
(ii) Require all vehicles to travel at a speed not exceeding 30mph on: Claypitt Lane, from New Road to Madgwick Lane; Garden Furze, from New Road to Hat Hill Road; Hat Hill Road, from a point 1.25miles south of Racecourse Road southwards to Garden Furze; Madgwick Lane, from Claypit Lane to Old Place Lane; New Road, from Waterbeach Road westwards for a distance of
1.7miles; Trundle Hill/Kennel Hill Road, from a point 0.75miles south of Knights Hill southwards to New Road; and
(iii) Require all vehicles to travel at a speed not exceeding 40mph on: Hat Hill Road, from Racecourse Road southwards for a distance of 1.25 miles; New Road, from the A285 westwards to Waterbeach Road; Racecourse Road, from Trundle Hill eastwards to Hat Hill Road; Trundle Hill, from Knights Hill southwards for 0.75 miles; and
(iv) Prohibit vehicles from: making a right turn from Goodwood Motor Circuit Gate 1 onto Claypit Lane; from making a right turn from Westerton Lane onto Claypit Lane; from making right turns onto Claypit Lane from ‘C’ carpark exits C1 and C2; prohibit vehicles from making left or right turns onto New Road from ‘B’ carpark
(v) Prohibit any vehicles from waiting at any time on lengths of: the west side of Claypit Lane; the south side of New Road; the west side of Madgwick Lane; on both sides of Westerton Lane.
This Order is necessary to protect public safety and manage safe access for vehicles and pedestrians during the build, holding of and breaking down of the Goodwood Revival event 2024.
The Order will come into operation at 0800hours on 2 September 2024 and will remain in force until 2100hours on 9 September 2024.
The road closures will be in place daily between 0600hours and 2200hours from 6 September 2024 until 8 September 2024. The restricted speed limits will be in place from 0800hours on 6 September 2024 until 1700hours on 9 September 2024. The prohibited manoeuvres will be in place daily between 0600hours and 2100hours from 2 September 2024 until 9 September 2024.
The waiting restrictions as indicated by traffic cones will be in place between 0800hours on 5 September 2024 until 1700hours on 9 September 2024.
All alternative routes will be clearly signed on site as necessary.

(Southbourne: Emsworth Show)
(Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit waiting at any time on lengths of Thorney Road:-
(i) west side, from the A259 Main Road southwards for a distance of 30 metres; and (ii) east side, from the A259 Main Road southwards for a distance of 350 metres The Order will come into operation on 26 August 2024. The restrictions are needed to maintain the safe flow of traffic while the Emsworth Show is taking place and will be in place between 0800 and 1800 hours on 26 August 2024.

(Chichester: Little London)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Little London from East Street to the access to the car park.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst masonry repairs to buildings in the vicinity are undertaken.
Whilst the closure is in place access to Little London carpark will be via Priory Road. The one-way system will be suspended and the bollards between Little London and Priory Road will be removed and temporary traffic light controls will be in place.
The Order will come into effect on 9 September 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 9 September 2024 and will take 1 month to complete.

(South Harting: South Gardens)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along South Gardens between the B2146 and Tipper Lane.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst repairs are made to an unsafe building.
The Order will come into effect on 27 August 2024 and will last for 18 months. It is anticipated the road will be closed until 9 October 2024.

(Westhampnett: Public Footpath No. 417)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 417, Westhampnett from its northern end at its junction with Public Bridleway No.
3583 (SU886069), southwards to its junction with Stane Street (SU887065) a distance of approximately 441M.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst initial development works are undertaken in the vicinity.
There is an alternative route which will be clearly signed onsite.
The Order will come into effect on 26 August 2024 and will last for 6 months or until it is safe to reopen the footpath.

(Yapton: Burndell Road & Bilsham Road)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close roads in Yapton as follows:
Burndell Road: from Downlands Road to its junction with Goodhew Close from 26 August 2024 to 20 September 2024 Bilsham Road: throughout its entire length from 23 September 2024 to 4 April 2025
These road closures are needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.
Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site.
Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
