What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis between Skye Gardens and number 1.
This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 13 September 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B5120, A505, A5 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 2 September 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(GREAT NORTHERN ROAD, DUNSTABLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Great Northern Road, Dunstable outside number 4.
This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on
5 September 2024 between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Station Road, A505, A5183 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 5 September 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sundon Road, Harlington outside approximately number 123.
This temporary closure is required to enable cabling works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on
6 September 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Barton Road, Harlington Road, Sharpenhoe Road, Sundon Road, Streatley Road, Harlington Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 6 September 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Mayfield Road, Dunstable between Mountview Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.
This temporary closure is required to enable electrical works take place in safety and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on
30 August 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Mountview Avenue, Mayfield Road, Oakwood Avenue and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 30 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Central Bedfordshire.
These temporary closures are required to enable various carriageway repair, patching, surfacing, footway, gully and drainage works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
It is expected that the first works will take place at some point between 9 September 2024 and 2 December 2024. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The roads will be closed at all times during this period.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic on the following lengths of road:
i. Lower Harpenden Road, Hyde between West Hyde Road and Viaduct Cottages. The alternative route for this closure is via B653, New Airport Way, A1081, Sun Lane, B653 and vice versa.
ii. Churchill Road, Dunstable. The alternative route for this closure is via Lowther Road.
iii. Birchside, Dunstable between Seamons Close and number 2. There is no alternative route for this closure.
iv. Toddington Road, Tebworth between Wingfield Road and Chalgrave Road. The alternative route for this closure is via Toddington Road, B5120, A5, Hockliffe Road and vice versa.
v. Verey Road, Dunstable. The alternative route for this closure is via Eyncourt Road.
vi. The Green, Whipsnade between Dagnall Road and Whipsnade Zoo Car Park. The alternative route for this closure is via Dagnall Road, B489, B4541, B4540 and vice versa.
vii. Church Road, Barton-le-Clay. There is no alternative route for this closure.

NOTICE OF VARIATION OF METHOD OF
PAYMENT FOR PARKING
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, intends to make the below named Order in exercise of the powers under Sections 35, 46 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers to revise the payment method at several On and Off Street Parking locations.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce Cashless Payments Only at the following locations:
