What is happening?

 THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF CARDIFF (PRINCIPALITY STADIUM EVENTS, CARDIFF) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (NO.2) ORDER 2024

On the 16th August 2024, The County Council of the City and County of Cardiff in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and of all other enabling powers, made an Order the general effect of which is to prevent any vehicle from using or proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below. 

The Order is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public and is expected to be in operation on the dates and during the times specified in the below Schedule. 

The restriction specified will only have the effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of signs and/or notices. The Order will remain in force for a maximum of 18 months.

The Order is known as “The County Council of the City and County of Cardiff (Principality Stadium Events, Cardiff) (Temporary Road Closures) (No.2) Order 2024”.

Speedway 
Between the hours of 2:30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 17th August 2024 

• Despenser Gardens, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place and Golate throughout their lengths 
• Wood Street from its junction with Fizthamon Embankment to its junction with St Mary Street • St Mary Street from its junction with Wood Street to its junction with Mill Lane 
• Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Fitzhamon Embankment Wales v Fiji
Between the hours of 7:00am and 5.40pm on Sunday 10th November 2024 Wales v Australia
Between the hours of 7:00am and 8.10pm on Sunday 17th November 2024 Wales v South Africa 
Between the hours of 7.00am and 9.45pm on Saturday 23rd November 2024 
• Scott Road and Park Street throughout their lengths
Wales v Fiji
Between the hours of 9:30am and 5.40pm on Sunday 10th November 2024 Wales v Australia
Between the hours of 12:00pm and 8.10pm on Sunday 17th November 2024 Wales v South Africa 
Between the hours of 1.30pm and 9.45pm on Saturday 23rd November 2024
• Kingsway from its junction with North Road to its junction with Duke Street
• Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street
•Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)
• Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted)
• Penarth Road from its junction with Saunders Road to the entrance leading into the rear of the Central Train Station
• Caroline Street, Castle Street, Central Square, Duke Street, High Street, Golate, Guildhall Place, Havelock Street, Saunders Road, St Mary Street, Wood Street, Westgate Street, Womanby Street and Quay Street throughout their lengths
• City Hall Road, College Road, Gorsedd Gardens Road, King Edward VII Avenue and Museum Avenue throughout their lengths (access may be permitted at the discretion of Cardiff Council Traffic Management Staff) 

In the event that there are safety concerns, the roads referred to in this order may be closed for longer than specified above

Ar 16 Awst 2024, gwnaeth Cyngor Sir Dinas a Sir Caerdydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau dan Adran 14(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd), a’r holl bwerau galluogi eraill, Orchymyn a fydd yn atal unrhyw gerbyd rhag defnyddio neu deithio ar hyd y darnau o ffyrdd a nodir yn yr Atodlen isod. 

Mae’r Gorchymyn hwn yn ofynnol i atal y tebygolrwydd o berygl i’r cyhoedd a disgwylir iddo fod yn weithredol ar y dyddiadau a’r amseroedd a nodir yn yr Atodlen isod. 

Dim ond ar yr adegau ac i’r graddau a nodir ar arwyddion a/neu hysbysiadau a gaiff eu harddangos y bydd y cyfyngiad dan sylw ar waith. Bydd y Gorchymyn yn parhau ar waith am hyd at 18 mis.
