Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant

Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Ince No.12 (Part)) (Temporary Diversion) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, from using public footpath Ince No.12 from Point A as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 360218 404702, northwest, to Point B as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 359880 404765, for a distance of approximately 346 metres.

An alternative route is available from Point A to Point B as shown on the Order Map, which runs parallel to the existing public footpath, slightly to the north. The public footpath will be diverted for a period of six months, commencing on 2nd September 2024. The Order is necessary to enable development to take place.

Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Standish No. 54 (part), 58 (part), 61A) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024 The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform use:

Standish No. 61A from Point A at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 60 & 61, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 357129 408291, to Point B at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 58, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356700 409067 for a distance of approximately 900 metres in a generally north westerly direction.

Standish No. 58 from Point C near Wakefield Farm, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356565 408987, to Point D at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 54, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356269 409077 for a distance of approximately 318 metres in a generally westerly direction.

Standish No. 54 from Point D at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 58, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356269 409077, to Point E at its junction with public footpath Standish No. 85, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356254 409342 for a distance of approximately 263 metres in a generally northerly direction.

Alternative routes are available via the public rights of way and road networks and will be signposted on site. These public bridleways will be closed for a period of four months commencing on 30th August 2024 to safeguard the public whilst surface improvements and drainage works are carried out.
