What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
B2008 HIGH STREET, MINSTER-ON-SEA, ME12 2TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2008 High Street, Minster-on-sea, from 22.00 hours on 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 10th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of numbers 12-14, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via B2008 Minster Road, Barton Hill Drive, A2500 Lower Road, A2500 Forty Acres Hill, B2008 Eastchurch Road, B2008 Chequers Road, B2008 High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
BEECH CLOSE, OSPRINGE ROAD & B2040 LOWER ROAD, FAVERSHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow installation works, resurfacing, drainage and road marking works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Beech Close, Ospringe Road & B2040 Lower Road, Faversham, from 30th August 2024, with estimated completion by 28th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
Beech Close will be closed from 19.00 hours on 30th August 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 31st August 2024.
The road will be closed from the junction with Lower Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stonebridge Way, Curtis Way, West Street, B2040 South Road, Lower Road and vice versa (using Napleton Road and Tanners Street).
Ospringe Road & B2040 Lower Road will be closed from 19.00 hours on 27th September 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 28th September 2024.
The roads will be closed at the junction where they meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stonebridge Way, Curtis Way, West Street, B2040 South Road, Lower Road and vice versa (using Napleton Road and Tanners Street).
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
BELGRAVE ROAD, MINSTER. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Belgrave Road, Minster, on or after 27th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction of Ashley Close and A250 Queenborough Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There will be a gateman stationed at either end of the closure to allow access.
EAST STREET, SITTINGBOURNE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
For the safety of the public and workforce, a one-way system has been created to allow disconnection works to be carried out. Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Street, Sittingbourne from 27th August 2024, with estimated completion by 4th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
Traffic on East Street, Sittingbourne will be temporarily prohibited from travelling east, between South Avenue and West Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling east is via East Street, Crown Quay Lane and A2 St Michaels Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
FAVERSHAM HOP FESTIVAL 2024 (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow the Faversham Hop Festival to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Faversham on or after 31st August 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 19.00, or until the event has finished.
The following roads will be closed between the hours of 08.00 and 19.00 on both days, with the roads re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.
• Court Street – between the junctions with Crescent Road and Market Place.
• East Street – between the junctions with Newton Road and Preston Street.
• Market Place – for its entire length.
• Market Street – for its entire length.
• Middle Row – for its entire length.
• Preston Street – between the junctions with East Street and Station Road/Forbes Road.
• Stone Street – between the junctions with Preston Street and Union Street.
• West Street – between the junctions with Market Place and North Lane.
• Leslie Smith Drive – for its entire length.
• Bank Street – for its entire length.
• Partridge Lane – between the junctions with Court Street and Thomas Road.
FERRY ROAD, IWADE, ME9 8TY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ferry Road, Iwade, on or after 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between School Lane and Grovehurst Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Sheppey Way, Bobbing Roundabout, A249, Kingsferry Roundabout, Sheppey Way, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
HIGH STREET, SHEERNESS, ME12 1RH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Sheerness, from 19.00 hours on 28th August 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 29th August 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed near the junction of Beach Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The One-Way Order on High Street, between A250 Millennium Way and Victory Street (either side of the closure) will be suspended to allow for residential access.
The One-Way Order on Victory Street will be reversed to allow for diverted traffic.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via A250 Millenium Way and High Street.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Victory Street and A250 Millenium Way.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
TANNERS STREET, FAVERSHAM, ME13 7RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tanners Street, Faversham, from 27th August 2024, with estimated completion by 29th August 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Tanners Street, West Street, B2040 South Road and Tanners Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
