What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 MAIDSTONE AREA

A274 MAIDSTONE ROAD, SUTTON VALENCE, ME17 3LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new water connection to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A274 Maidstone Road, Sutton Valence, on or after 31st August 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Chartway Street and The Oaks. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 North Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, New Barn Road, Hawkenbury Road, Headcorn Road, A229 High Street, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Linton Hill, B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

A274 WHEELER STREET, A274 BIDDENDEN ROAD & A274 HEADCORN ROAD HEADCORN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Biddenden Road & A274 Headcorn Road, Headcorn, on or after 11th September 2024 for up to 16 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Knowles Gardens to the junction of Cot Lane, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Station Road, A274 High Street, A274 North Street, A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 North Street, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Hill, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Station Road, A229 High Street, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 Knoxbridge, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Camden Hill, A229 The Common, A229 Wilsley Pound, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street, A262 Biddenden Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 High Street, A274 North Street, A274 Headcorn Road and vice versa.

DEAN STREET, COXHEATH, ME15 0PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow overhead structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dean Street, Coxheath, on or after 12th September 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Horseshoes Public House, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street and vice versa.

GREEN LANE, BOUGHTON MONCHELSEA, ME17 4JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Green Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 28th August 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Alpha Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Green Lane, Church Street, B2163 Heath Road, Gandys Lane, Brishing Lane and vice versa.

JAMES STREET, MAIDSTONE, ME14 2TH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow signal loop replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of James Street, Maidstone, on or after 27th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Quarry Square and Boxley Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via James Street, Wheeler Street, Grecian Street, Boxley Road and vice versa.

SANDLING ROAD, MAIDSTONE, ME14 2UY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Maidstone, on or after 15th September 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Cantium House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Road, Week Street, Station Road, St Faiths Street, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Royal Engineers Road, B2012 Staceys Street, Sandling Road and vice versa.

THE STREET, WORMSHILL, ME9 0TT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow signing and lining works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Wormshill, on or after 30th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Bedmonton and Ringlestone Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ringlestone Road, Syndale Bottom Road, Lords Hill, The Street, Twin Hills Lane, The Street and vice versa.
