Various Roads in Reigate and Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order (No.4) 2024
On 14 August 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 9 weeks, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am and 7pm, Saturdays, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Sundays, between the hours of 8am and 4pm (if required), within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures and prohibition, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic, including emergency services vehicles will be required to use the signed diversion route. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
Schedule
(a) the entire length of the Dovers Green Road, (Service Road) (D1300) From Prices Lane to Sandcross Lane Reigate. (b) Prohibit vehicles that are proceeding in that length of Dovers Green Road, (Service Road) (D1300) From Prices Lane to Sandcross Lane Reigate from travelling in any other direction other than southbound. (c) that length of Brandsland (D1296) Reigate as extends from its junction with (D1296) New Causeway and for a distance of 50 metres in a south westerly direction. (d) that length of Sandcross Lane (D1298) Reigate as extends from its junction with (A217) Dovers Green Road to its junction with (D1300) Dovers Green Road Service Road from Prices Lane to Sandcross Lane.
Alternative Route for: (a, b, and d) Prices Lane, (A217) Dovers Green Road, and Sandcross Lane, or this route in reverse.
Alternative Route for; (c) Brandsland, Lonesome Lane, Lynn Walk, and New Causeway, or this route in reverse.
Collendean Lane (D330) Charlwood, Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Collendean Lane (D330) Charlwood, Horley as extends from its junction with (C57 Smalls Hill Road and (C57) Norwood Hill Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Hill House”. Alternative Route: Collendean Lane, Horse Hill, (A217) Reigate Road, (C62) Reigate Road, Charlwood Road, Horley Road, The Street, and Norwood Hill Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out utility works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 09 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Haxted Road (C87) Haxted Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Haxted Road (C87) Haxted as extends from its junction with (C85) Water Lane to the boundary with Kent County Council; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council C87 Haxted Road, Edenbridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road as specified in part (a) to this notice. Alternative Route – Haxted Road; Lingfield Common Road; Godstone Road; Plaistow Street; High Street; Town Hill; Racecourse Road; Moor Lane; Marsh Green Road; Mill Hill; Mont St. Aignan Way; and Lingfield Road. The Order is required to allow telegraph pole testing works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 03 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
West Street (A25) and Buckland Road (A25) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of West Street (A25) and Buckland Road (A25) Reigate as extends from its junction with (A25) London Road to a point 10 metres west of its junction with (C58) Flanchford Road. Alternative Routes – (1) A25 West Street/Buckland Road/Reigate Road; A24 Deepdene Avenue/London Road/Mickleham By-Pass/London Road/Dorking Road/By-Pass Road/Leatherhead Road/The Street/ Epsom Road/Dorking Road/South Street/High Street; A2022 Upper High St/Alexandra Road/College Road; A240 Reigate Road; A217 Brighton Road/Reigate Hill/London Road; and A25 Castlefield Road/ Church Street/High Street/West Street. (2) A25 West Street/London Road; A217 London Road/Reigate Hill/Brighton Road; A240 Reigate Road; A2022 College Road/Alexandra Road/Upper High St; A24 High Street/Ashley Road/Ashley Avenue/South Street/Dorking Road/Epsom Road/The Street/Leatherhead Road/By-Pass Road/Dorking Road/ London Road/Mickleham By-Pass/London Road/Deepdene Avenue; and A25 Reigate Road/Buckland Road/West Street. (3) C58 Flanchford Road; C223 Clayhall Lane/Slipshatch Road/Sandcross Lane/Prices Lane; A217 Dovers Green Road/Cockshot Hill/Bell Street; and A25 High Street/West Street. (4) A25 West Street/London Road/Castlefield Road/ Church Street; A217 Bancroft Road/Bell Street/Cockshot Hill/Dovers Green Road; C223 Prices Lane/Sandcross Lane/Slipshatch Road/ Clayhall Lane; and C58 Flanchford Road. This Order, which will commence on 09 September 2024 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: major highways maintenance works and/or carriageway resurfacing works and/or highways improvements and/or any other associated highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 4 weeks between the hours of 8pm and 6am Monday to Saturday. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period
Clay Lane (C56) Headley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Clay Lane (C56) Headley as extends from its junction with (C56) Tilley Lane to its junction with (C55) Hurst Lane. Alternative Route – Headley Road; A24 By-Pass Road; Reigate Road; Mill Way; Leech Lane; Tot Hill; and Church Lane. The Order is required to allow telegraph pole testing works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Notice of Confirmation of Modification Order Section 53 of The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
Surrey County Council Rights of Way Definitive Map and Statement Public Footpath No. 637 (Reigate) Definitive Map Modification Order 2020
On 4 July 2024, an Inspector appointed the Secretary of State for Environment Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above-named Order.
The Order as confirmed modifies the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a public footpath from its junction with Atherfield Road [Grid Ref. 526155 148626] in a north-westerly direction to the southern edge of Earlswood Common [Grid Ref. 526146 148653] for a total of 27 metres with a width varying between 2.5 and 5.5 metres.
A copy of the Order and Order map may be seen free of charge at the Countryside Access Office, Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ (by appointment Tel 0300 2001003); Reigate and Banstead Borough Council Offices, Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate, RH2 0SH and Reigate Library, Bancroft House, Bancroft Road, Reigate, RH2 7RP during opening hours. The Order came into force on 4 July 2024. If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act within six weeks of the 15 August 2024 make an application to the High Court.

Public Footpath No. 36 & Public Bridleway 38 Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 8 August 2024 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:
i) Footpath 36 (Leatherhead) from (Grid Ref. 518669 159343) in a south-westerly direction where it crosses the railway level crossing.
ii) Pu blic Bridleway 38 (Leatherhead) from (Grid ref. 519007 159526) in a south-westerly direction where is crosses the railway level crossing.
The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to major engineering works on the railway to install 1.2 kilometres of new track.
It will be in operation from 9 August 2024 until 23 August 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
Works will commence at each crossing over two periods, from 22:00 hours on 9 August until 05:00 on 12 August, and from 22:00 hours on 16 August until 05:00 on 23 August. It is expected that the level crossing will be open to the public outside these hours.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when this appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternative route.
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 36 and Public Bridleway No. 38 (Leatherhead) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
