(Various Roads, City of Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (Bruff Close, Colchester) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Way) Order (No.20) 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- To temporarily suspend the bus way in that length of Bruff Close, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction Northern Approach Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a south westerly direction as detailed in “Colchester Borough” (Northern Approach, Colchester) (Traffic Regulation) Order 2003”. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in schedule 1 and 2 for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping and On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 22nd August 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Weston Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Beche Road to its junction with Gilberd Road a distance of approximately 80m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP2016H843G1555) – Essex County Council. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Beche Road, Bourne Road, Gilberd Road, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Crow Lane, Weeley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Crow Lane, Weeley in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 360m north of its junction with Thorpe Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201H104033 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Crow Lane, Thorpe Road, Tendring Road, Colchester Road, Thorpe Road, Crow Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(London Road, Marks Tey)
(Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction on that length of London Road, Marks Tey in the City of Colchester, from its junction with A120 at Pesthouse Roundabout for a distance of approximately 460m in both directions.
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping and On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The restriction is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2024 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (H4067086220 – National Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by National Highways on A12.
The Order came into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Way, Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Station Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Brick Kiln Road for a distance of approximately 65m in both directions. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2024 for 8 nights (23:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL7011N-5B-072842 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
