Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Orders under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Effect of the orders:
1. To temporarily introduce a 30mph Speed limit on the below roads in the City of Chelmsford.
The existing speed limit is 60mph.

A414 Greenbury Way, Writtle From its junction with Margaretting road to its junction with London Road (Widford Roundabout) for approximately 1.25 Miles
Margaretting Road, Writtle From its junction with Greenbury Way to its junction with Nathans Lane for approximately 1000 metres
2. To temporarily close the below roads in the City of Chelmsford
Road Name - Description
Hunts Drive, Writtle From its junction with Margaretting Road for its entire length
Rectory Road, Writtle From its junction with Margaretting Road for its entire length
Paradise Road, Writtle From its junction with Lodge Road for its entire length
The restrictions are scheduled to commence on the 24 August 2024 for 2 days between the hours of 08.00am 24 August 2024 to 08:00am 26 August 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and are required for the duration of the New World Festival held on the land at Kings Farm East of Margaretting Road in order to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of the event in progress, pedestrians walking along the verges and the edge of the carriageway, particularly in the evenings. Also to stop parking in residential areas.
Members of the Public are advised to avoid using these routes if at all possible, during the above dates. Speed Enforcement cameras might be operating within the restricted lengths of road as specified.
The Orders will come into operation on 24 August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the event has been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Boreham Road, Great Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Boreham Road, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Paulk Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 170m in a westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th September 2024 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140GREHS60585 – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Boreham Road, Waltham Road, Cranham Road, Wheelers Hill, Wheelers Farm Roundabout, Essex Regiment Way, Sheepcotes Roundabout, Braintree Road, Strawbrook Hill, Great Leighs Bypass, Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout South, Main Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Canewdon Gardens, Runwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Canewdon Gardens, Runwell in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 30m north west of its junction with Egbert Gardens for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP00312001743 – Public Sewer Services).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new sewage connection works are undertaken by Public Sewer Services.

(High Easter Road, Barnston) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Easter Road, Barnston in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 170m south west of its junction with Barnston Green for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410234716 – Affinity Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while repair stop tap works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via High Easter Road, Barnston Road, The Street, Stortford Road, Chelmsford Road, Dunmow Road, Old Street Hill, Feathers Hill, High Street, Station Road, Great Dunmow Junction West Dunmow Bypass, Braintree Road, Mill Road, Hartford End, Main Road and vice versa (with access only into High Easter Road).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maldon Road, Margaretting) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 730m south east then north east then south east of its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly then north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD00263306039/1 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kiosk replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Stock Road, Galleywood Road, Wood Street, Wood Street Roundabout, London Road, Writtle Bypass Roundabout, Greenbury Way, Margaretting Road Roundabout, Margaretting Road, Writtle Road, Margaretting Bypass, Wantz Road and vice versa (with access only into Maldon Road, London Hill, Margaretting Road).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Road, Felsted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Felsted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 335m south west of its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th September 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (A5009-ESS-36034 – County Broadband LTD). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by County Broadband LTD.
An alternative route is available via Station Road, Chelmsford Road, Hartford End, Main Road, Dunmow Road and vice versa (with access only into Mill Road, Brook Hill, Black Chapel Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mope Lane, Wickham Bishops) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mope Lane, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 360m north west of its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 10 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013314036 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Church Road, Witham Road and vice versa (with access only into Mope Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Stock Road, Galleywood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stock Road, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 100m south east of its junction with Margaretting Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 1 night (19:00 - 05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001351323 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via London Road, Writtle Bypass Roundabout, Three Mile Hill, Three Mile Hill Roundabout, A12, Stock Road A12 Flyover and vice versa (with access only into Stock Road, Galleywood Road, Wood Street).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until
the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(The Street, Roxwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Street, Roxwell in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 120m north of its junction with Church Green for a distance of approximately 70m in a northerly then westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30006600216 – UK Power Networks).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation of new electricity supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Beech Road, The Street, Fyfield Road, Willingale Road, Queen Street, Dunmow Road, Stortford Road, Chelmsford Road, Bishops Stortford Road and vice versa (with access only into The Street, Stonehill Road, Skreens Park Road, Shellow Road, Vicarage Road).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Erick Avenue, Broomfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Erick Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford from its junction with Healthfield Road to its junction with Main Road a distance of approximately 250m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th August 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2365433 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while MEML 24-25 – replace 16 no full stick on kerbs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Main Road, Broomfield Road, Skerry Rise, Berwick Avenue, Heathfield Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Finchingfield Road, Hempstead & Spains End Road, Finchingfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Finchingfield Road, Hempstead & Spains End Road, Finchingfield in the District of Uttlesford and District of Braintree, from the junction with Bumpstead Road to the junction with Great Sampford Road a distance of approximately 3800m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (A5007ESS-HH17082024/8082024 – County Broadband Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole installation works are undertaken by County Broadband Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Spains End Road, Tinkers Green Road, Cornish Hall End, Finchingfield Road, Chapel Street, Haverhill Road, North Street, Water Lane, Hempstead Road, Bumpstead Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Main Road, Little Waltham) (Temporary Introduction of a 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction in that length of Main Road, Little Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 125m north west of its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 195m in a south easterly direction. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2024 for 11 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M113304 – Essex And Suffolk Water).
