What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an order on Thursday, 15 August 2024 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9) & (10). Furthermore, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (11) & (12).

(1) MOOR LANE SLIP ROAD. DRINGHOUSES. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Moor Lane Slip Road, Dringhouses, York between the projected south-western boundary of property No.34 'Waters Edge' and the projected north-eastern boundary of property No. 28'Lakeside Cottage' (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Friday, 16 August 2024 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 16 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(2) MOOR LANE LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through that length of road at Moor Lane Level Crossing, Strensall (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2330hrs on Saturday, 17 August 2024 and ending at 0600hrs on Sunday, 18 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Ox Carr Lane, York Road.

(3) ST BENEDICT ROAD. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on St Benedict Road, York between its junction with Ancress Walk and a location 27 metres north-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 and ending at 1530hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will not be signed during the works period.

(4) DROME ROAD. COPMANTHORPE

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Drome Road, Copmanthorpe between the projected south-eastern boundaries of property No's 34 and 38 (closed road) during the period when power grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 and ending at 1800hrs on Friday, 23 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Temple Garth, Temple Lane.

(5) MICKLEGATE. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Micklegate, York between its junctions with Priory Street and Bar Lane (closed road) during the period when crane removal works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0630hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 and ending at 1900hrs on Wednesday, 28 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between Monday, 19 August 2024 and Tuesday, 20 August 2024 however the works may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions to take place between Tuesday, 27 August 2024 and Wednesday, 28 August 2024 instead. Alternative routes for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Toft Green, George Hudson Street, Rougier Street, Station Road, Queen Street, Nunnery Lane, Bishopgate Street, Tower Street, Clifford Street, Low Ousegate.

(6) MILL LANE. WIGGINTON

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Mill Lane, Wigginton between its junction with Walmer Carr and a location 30 metres east of the junction with Westfield Lane (closed road) during the period when highway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 and ending at 1530hrs on Friday, 23 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0930hrs and 1530hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via The Village, York Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road.

(7) LORDS MOOR LANE TO YORK LANE. STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Lords Moor Lane To York Lane, Strensall between its junction with York Lane

and a location 106 metres north-east of the projected north-eastern boundary of the property named 'The Haven' (closed road) during the period when highway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 19 August 2024 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 23 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0900hrs and 1600hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via York Lane, Rice Lane, Lilling Lane, New Road, Sheriff Hutton Road, The Village, York Road, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane.

(8) CLEMENTHORPE. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Clementhorpe, York between its junction with Bishopgate Street and a location 30 metres east of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via ?arnborough Street, Terry Avenue, Bishopgate Street.

(9) OAK TREE LANE. HAXBY

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Oak Tree Lane, Haxby between locations 37 metres and 113 metres south of the roundabout controlled junction with Holly Tree Lane (closed road) during the period when highway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Thursday, 22 August 2024 and ending at 1530hrs on Sunday, 25 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will not be closed for the whole works period however it will need to be closed for a minimum of 24 hours at one point. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Eastfield Avenue, Wheatfield Lane, Greenshaw Drive.

(10) ALMSFORD ROAD. CRANBROOK ROAD & WOODLEA AVENUE. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road on Almsford Road, Cranbrook Road and Woodlea Avenue, York (i) on Almsford Road between the junction with Carr Lane and a location 100 metres north-west of said junction and (ii) on Cranbrook Road between its junction with Almsford Road and a location 17 metres north-east of said junction and (iii) on Woodlea Avenue between its junction with Almsford Road and a location 12 metres south-west of said junction (closed roads) during the period when highway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Thursday, 22 August 2024 and ending at 1530hrs on Sunday, 25 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Carr Lane, Boroughbridge Road, Beckfield Lane.

(11) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on York Road Level Crossing, Strensall (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2359hrs on Saturday, 24 August 2024 and ending at 0600hrs on Sunday, 25 August 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Princess Road, Moor Lane, Ox Carr Lane.

(12) HIGH OUSEGATE. YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on High Ousegate, York between its junctions with Parliament Street and Coppergate (closed road) during the period when hostile vehicle mitigation works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0730hrs on Tuesday, 27 August 2024 and ending at 1900hrs on Friday, 18 October 2024 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Alternative routes for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Piccadilly, The Stonebow, Jewbury, Lord Mayors Walk, Gillygate, Coney Street, Lendal, Museum Street, Micklegate, Rougier Street, Bridge Street, Clifford Street, Tower Street, Paragon Street, Fawcett Street.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
