Cumberland, Multiple Roads, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2049 RAUGHTON HEAD, U2260 HOWRIGG BANK, WIGTON, C2052 SKINBURNESS ROAD, SILLOTH AND U1107 PAVING BROW, BRAMPTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. C2049 Raughton Head, from its junction with the U1141, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 130m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2049, U1140 and U1141.
Duration: From 31 August 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0800 and 1600 hours (Ref TTROC/11794)
2. U2260 Howrigg Bank, Wigton, from a point adjacent to No. 10 Howrigg Bank, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 20m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Howrigg Bank.
Duration: From 2 September 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11691)
3. C2052 Skinburness Road, Silloth, from its junction with the entrance to Seacote Caravan Park, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 40m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2052 Skinburness Road and B5302.
Duration: From 11 September 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11849)
4. U1107 Paving Brow, Brampton, from its junction with Gelt Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 500m. Alternative Route: via Gelt Road and the B6413 Front Street and Craw Hall.
Duration: From 8 October 2024 for approx. 4 days between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11590)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 31 August 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
