Greenwich Gardens, Temporary Footway Closure Due To Water Woks

What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) U8239 GREENWICH GARDENS HORDLEY ACRES FOOTWAY, HAYDON BRIDGE (TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on that section of the U8239 Greenwich Gardens Hordey Acres Footway from the rear of no. 2 Hordley Acres Cottage heading west for a length of 11 metres in the County of Northumberland. The Order is to be effective from the 20th August 2024 until the 29th August 2024. It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 20th August 2024 until the 24th August 2024 but it will be closed at all times during that period. The order will remain in place until the 29lh August 2024.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Hordley Acres, Haydon Tynedale District footpath 071 and vice versa.

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water, because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads namely to renew an ESV cover in the footway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
