Workington, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U23I2 DERWENT CLOSE, SEATON, U2578 MITCHELL AVENUE, WORKINGTON AND U2329 CLIFTON LODGE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U2312 Derwent Close, Seaton from its junction with Derwent Bank, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 3 September 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and I530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11712)
2. U2578 Mitchell Avenue, Workington, from a point adjacent to No. 6 Mitchell Avenue, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 40m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Mitchell Avenue, Thwaite Bank, Far Moss and Trinity Drive (following the one-way directions).
Duration: From 4 September 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and I530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11734)
3. U2329 Clifton Lodge, from a point adjacent to No.18 Clifton Lodge, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 40m. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From I0 September 2024 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/11826)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 3 September 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
