Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Speed Limit Orders.

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) A30 (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with Peckons Hill to its property known as Bay Tree Cottage to enable Wessex Water to carry out repair cover and associated works. Diversion route to be symbolised with a solid circle. Alternative route via A30 (unaffected length) - A350 - B3089 - A30 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 September 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 23:59 for 1 night. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) C12 (Part), Odstock and Coombe Bissett; from its junction with Odstock Road to its junction with Homington Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out service disconnection and associated works. Alternative route via Homington Road - A354 - Odstock Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 August 2024 and the closure will be required until 21 August 2024. Orders A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that on 7 August 2024 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is as follows: Order 1 - To revoke a) The County of Wilts (Restricted Roads) (No.2) Order 1963 and b) The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Tisbury and West Tisbury) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2016 and re-enact them, in part, in the above Order 1 and to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Tisbury and West Tisbury: Court Street - from its junction with The Avenue to its junction with Tisbury Row, Court Street Close, Hill Close, Lady Down View, Nadder Close, Queens Road, Snows Hill and Targetts Mead - the complete lengths, Cuffs Lane - from a point 25 metres east of its junction with Hindon Lane to its junction with The Avenue, Duck Street - from a point 16 metres north east of its junction with Hindon Lane to its junction with Court Street, Hindon Lane - from a point 114 metres north west of its junction with Grosvenor Drive to a point 20 metres north west of its junction with the access track to property known as Weaveland Farm, Park Road - from a point 48 metres east of its junction with High Street to its junction with Cuffs Lane, Station Road - from a point 89 metres south east of its junction with The Square to a point 25 metres north east of its junction with the south western access to Tisbury Railway Station, The Avenue - from a point 14 metres east of its junction with High Street to its junction with Cuffs Lane, Tisbury Row - from its junction with Court Street to a point 10 metres north of the bridge over the River Nadder, Vicarage Road - From as point 58 metres south west of its junction with Churchill Estate to its junction with Hatch Lane/Tuckingmill Lane. Order 2 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Tisbury) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2006 and re-enact it in the above Order 2, for administrative purposes only with no changes to be made on the ground. A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Orders will come into operation on 19 August 2024.
