Quay Road - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF BOTH ST JOHN STREET
AND QUAY ROAD, BRIDLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of both St John Street and Quay Road,
Bridlington from its junction with Queensgate travelling
southbound to property number 254 Roxy
Amusements, Quay Road commencing 16 September
2024 until 4 October 2024 for the purposes of
essential electrical works - new connection works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within 19 days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via St John
Street, Scarborough Road South, Scarborough Road
Roundabout, Well Lane Bypass, Bessingby Hill,
Bessingby Road, Bessingby Way Roundabout, Kingsgate,
Station Road, Station Avenue, Quay Road Roundabout,
Quay Road, Bridlington CP, Bridlington Central and
Old Town Ward, Bridlington South Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic,
but access will be maintained at all times for residents,
emergency services and pedestrians.
