ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A102 AND A13 GLA ROADS (EAST INDIA DOCK ROAD AND ST LEONARD'S ROAD ON-SLIP ROAD, LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
1. Transport for London having consulted the London Borough of Tower Hamlets hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway resurfacing and line marking works to take place at A102 St Leonard's Road on-slip road and A13 East India Dock Road.
3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) entering, exiting or proceeding on the eastbound carriageway of East India Dock Road between the extended western building line of No. 225 East India Dock Road and its Junctions with St. Leonard's Road off-slip road;
(2) entering, exiting or proceeding on St. Leonard's Road on-slip road between its junctions with East India Dock Road and A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach;
(3) entering, exiting or proceeding on Follett Street between its junctions with St. Leonard's Road on-slip road and the ingress/egress to the car park of Tabard Court;
(4) stopping in the Loading, Unloading and Disabled Persons vehicles bay outside Nos.249-251e East India Dock Road.
The Order will be effective at certain times between 21 st August 2024 and 22nd February 2025, each night, Mon- Sat, 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM (ceasing each Saturday at 5:00 AM) or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
5. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via signs via A1261 West India Dock Road, A1261 Aspen Way, East India Dock Road, Newham Way, A112 Prince Regent Lane, A112 Greengate Street, A112 High Street, A112 Plaistow Road, A112 West Ham Lane, A118 Broadway and A118 High Street to normal route of travel.
