Luton - Multiple Traffic Notices

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.14) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 12th August 2024 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 4th September 2024 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Hadlow Down Close the whole length. Diversion route not available. Anticipated date and times of closure 4th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Riverside Road the whole length. Diversion route not available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 4th September 2024 to 5th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Belvedere Road, Grosvenor Road, and Runfold Avenue the whole lengths. Diversion routes for all three road closures via Black Swan Lane, Birdsfoot Lane, Catsbrook Road. Alternatively via Catsbrook Road, Icknield Way, Neville Road, Black Swan Lane. Anticipated dates and times of closures 5th September 2024 to 8th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Amberley Close, Balcombe Close, Boxgrove Close, Pevensey Close, Middleton Road the whole lengths. Diversion routes for all five road closures not available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 8th September 2024 to 9th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Rogate Road, Selsey Drive, Birling Drive the whole lengths. Diversion routes for all three road closures not available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 10th September 2024 to 11th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Seymour Road the whole length. Diversion route via Seymour Avenue, Strathmore Avenue, West Hill Road, Cutenhoe Road. Alternatively via Cutenhoe Road, Park Street, Seymour Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 12th September 2024 to 13th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Arthur Street the whole length. Diversion route via Tavistock Street, Tavistock Crescent, Cowper Street, Tennyson Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 13th September 2024 to 14th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Trefoil Close the whole length. Diversion route not available. Anticipated date and times of closure 14th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Wordsworth Road the whole length. Diversion route via Macaulay Road, Browning Road, Dunstable Road. Alternatively via Dunstable Road, Shelley Road, Macaulay Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 14th September 2024 to 15th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.
Sanfoin Road the whole length. Diversion route via Drayton Road, Pastures Way, Beadlow Road. Alternatively via Beadlow Road, Purcell Road, Drayton Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 18th September 2024 to 19th September 2024, 8am to 6pm.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway surface dressing works to be carried out. For the period of the closure, the Order will also provide for “No Waiting and No Loading” restrictions to apply within the roads and lengths of roads closed for said works. Any vehicle deemed to be in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed. This will be in force when traffic signs, barriers or cones are displayed. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic will be marked by signs.
