Suffolk - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Weight Restriction Suspension due to Works.
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4121
MACAULAY ROAD AND U4126 BYRON ROAD, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the:
• U4121 Macaulay Road, Ipswich from Macaulay Road to Defoe Road.
• U4126 Byron Road, Ipswich from Macaulay Road to no. 113 Byron Road.
This to facilitate a major gas replacement scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Burke Road, Stratford Road, Shakespeare Road, Whitton Church Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 15/08/2024 - 23/08/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE C563 POUND HILL AND B1113 STATION ROAD, BACTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C563 Pound Hill, Bacton from the junction with St Marys Close for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate a rail bridge inspection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Pound Hill, Broad Road, Cow Green, Old Newton Road, Finningham Road, Station Road, Green Road, Haughlev Green, Bacton Green, Rectory Road, The Street, Church Road, Pound Hill and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B1113 Station Road, Bacton from the junction with Old Street to the junction with Finningham Road.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 15/08/2024 from 8am - 4pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C450 IPSWICH ROAD, OFFTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C450 Ipswich Road, Offton from The Spinney to the junction with The Cedars to Old Chapel House to facilitate providing fibre service to a customer. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Ipswich Road, Willisham Hall Road, Main Road, Willisham, Willisham Road, the B1078, the B1113, Somersham Road, Bramford, Leather Bottle Hill, Somersham Road, Little Blakenham, Main Road, Somersham, Main Road, Nettlestead and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 15/08/2024 from 9.30 - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE B1066 WHEPSTEAD ROAD AND HARRAM BOTTOM, HORRINGER AND WHEPSTEAD
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
• the B1066 Whepstead Road, Horringer.
• the B1066 Harram Bottom, Whepstead.
This is to facilitate surfacing dressing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A143, the A1302, the A134, the A1092, the B1066 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 15/08/2024 - 17/08/2024 from 7pm - 5am with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
