THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL

(STRATHKELVIN PLACE, COWGATE, WEST HIGH STREET, UNION STREET, DAVID DONNELLY PLACE, SOUTHBANK ROAD AND SOUTHBANK DRIVE, KIRKINTILLOCH)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

On the 13 August 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in event activities and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed sections of road) on the lengths of roads and during times detailed in the Schedule below, for reasons of public safety and convenience. Available alternative routes will be signposted.

SCHEDULE

1     Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch from the most southwesterly access leading to Kirkintilloch Police Station to its junction with Donaldson Street, Kirkintilloch. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours on Saturday,  31 August 2024 until 20.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024. There are no suitable alternative routes available.

2     Cowgate and West High Street, Kirkintilloch between their respective junctions with Catherine Street and Achill Place, Kirkintilloch. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours until 20.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024. The alternative routes for vehicles are as follows: Vehicles on the northwest side of the closure should proceed westwards on West High Street, then north-eastwards on the A803 Glasgow Road, then south-eastwards on the A806 New Lairdsland Road, then south-westwards on Catherine Street to the southeast side of the closure. Vehicles on the southeast side of the closure should proceed vice-versa. These routes will be signposted.

3.    Union Street,  Kirkintilloch between its junctions with Cowgate and Oxford Street, Kirkintilloch. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours until 20.00 hours on Sunday,  01 September 2024. The alternative routes will be by way of Oxford Street and Kerr Street, Kirkintilloch and these routes will be signposted.

4.    David Donnelly Place, Kirkintilloch from its junction  with Cowgate north-eastwards for a distance of 30 metres or thereby. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours until 20.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024. There are no suitable alternative routes available.

5.    Southbank Road and Southbank Drive, Kirkintilloch between their respective junctions with Townhead and Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours until 20.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024. The alternative routes for vehicles are as follows: Vehicles on the southwest side of the closure should proceed south-eastwards on Southbank Drive then eastwards on Donaldson Street then north-eastwards and north-westwards on Townhead to the northeast side of the closure. Vehicles travelling south-eastwards on Townhead at the northeast side of the closure should proceed vice versa. Vehicles travelling north-westwards on Townhead at the northeast side of the closure should proceed northwestwards on Townhead and Cowgate then north-eastwards on Catherine Street then south-eastwards on the A806 New Lairdsland Road then westwards on Parliament Road then south-westwards on Townhead then westwards on Donaldson Street then north-westwards on Southbank Drive to the southwest side of the closure. These alternative routes will be signposted.

6.    Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch from its junction with Southbank Drive, Kirkintilloch south-westwards to its termination. This closure will operate from 06.00 hours until 20.00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024. There are no suitable alternative routes available.

THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL

(DONALDSON STREET, SOUTHBANK DRIVE AND TOWNHEAD, KIRKINTILLOCH)

(TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

On the 13 August 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any motor vehicle to wait at any time, by reason of public safety and convenience, on:-

(i)    either side of Donaldson Street, Kirkintilloch between its junctions with Townhead and Southbank Drive, Kirkintilloch;

(ii)   either side of Southbank Drive, Kirkintilloch between its junctions with the access to Sainsbury’s car park and Donaldson Street, Kirkintilloch;

(iii)  the west side of Townhead, Kirkintilloch between its junctions with the B757 Parliament Road and Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch.

This Order will operate from 06.00 hours until 20:00 hours on Sunday, 01 September 2024.

THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL

(A807 AUCHENHOWIE ROAD, BALMORE ROAD AND TORRANCE ROAD)

PROPOSED 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT

The East Dunbartonshire Council propose to consider the introduction of a 30mph speed limit on the A807 (Auchenhowie Road, Balmore Road, and Torrance Road), the lengths of which are described in the Schedule below.

Full details of this proposal, which forms the proposed THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL (A807 AUCHENHOWIE ROAD, BALMORE ROAD AND TORRANCE ROAD) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER, together with plans and a statement of reasons for proposing to make this Order, are available for inspection without payment of fee in the Roads section of the East Dunbartonshire Council website. 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT

Lengths of Road in East Dunbartonshire

A807 Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie

1.    That length of the A807, Auchenhowie Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout north-westwards to a point 357 metres southeast of the southeast kerbline of Finlay Rise.

A807 Balmore Road

1.    That length of the A807, Balmore Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout north-eastwards to a point 590 metres west of the extended west kerbline of Station Road.

2.    That length of the A807, Balmore Road from a point 73 metres east of the extended west kerbline of the east access to the New Branziet Cottages eastwards to a point 15 metres east of the east kerbline of the access to West Acredyke Cottages.

3.    That length of the A807 Balmore Road from a point 50 metres east of the centreline of Old Balmore Road at its east junction with the A807, Balmore Road, eastwards to a point 100 metres west of the centreline of Kelvinbridge Roundabout.

A807 Torrance Road

1.    That  length of the A807 Torrance Road from a point 192 metres southeast of the centreline of Kelvinbridge roundabout southeastwards then southwards to a point 31 metres north of the centreline of Torrance roundabout.

B8049 Boclair Road

1.    That length of the B8049 Boclair Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout south-westwards for a distance of  55  metres.

A879 Balmore Road

1.    That length of the A879 Balmore Road from the centreline of Allander Toll roundabout south-eastwards for a distance of  56  metres.
