Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Road Closures Due To Transportation of Abnormal Loads

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14 TEMPORARY CLOSURE, CLOSURE OF SUBWAY, SUSPENSION OF DOUBLE YELLOW LINES, PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND SUSPENSION OF OVERNIGHT 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF VARIOUS ROADS, IPSWICH AND VARIOUS PARISHES

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in whole or in part to all motor vehicles, and no alternative routes will be available on the dates and times set out in this notice:

  • A140 Norwich Road, Coddenham (May from the A14 roundabout to Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary
  • A140 Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary
  • A140 Norwich Road, Earl Stonham
  • A140 Angel Hill, East Stonham
  • A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Aspal
  • A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Parva
  • A140 High St, Stonham Parva
  • A140 Turnpike, Stonham Parva
  • A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Parva
  • A140 Norwich Road, Mickfield
  • A140 Norwich Road, Little Stonham
  • A140 The Street, Wetheringsett cum Brockford
  • A140 Norwich Road, Wetheringsett cum Brockford
  • A140 Norwich Road, Thwaite
  • A140 Norwich Road, Stoke Ash
  • A140 Ipswich Road, Stoke Ash
  • A140 Ipswich Road, Thwaite
  • A140 Ipswich Road, Stonham Parva
  • A140 Norwich Road, Yaxley
  • B1077 Norwich Road, Thrandeston
  • A1065 London Road, Ipswich
  • B1050 Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds
  • B1050 Park Road, Bury St Edmunds

The roads will be closed to allow for the transportation of abnormal loads and will be closed at different times and for different durations.

Prohibition of Waiting and Suspension of Double Yellow Lines:

  • Ipswich: Stoke Bridge, Star Lane, Fore Street, Salthouse Street, Key Street, College Street, Foundry Lane, Carr Street, Upper Brook Street, Northgate Street, Great Colman Street, Tower Street, St Nicholas Street, Falcon Street, Black Horse Lane, Tacket Street, St Mary Elms, Museum Street, Cornhill, Princes Street, Friars Bridge Road, St Matthew's Street, Civic Drive, Crown Street, William Street.

Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction:

  • A14 from the A14/A140 roundabout to the B1078.
  • B1078 from the B1078/A14 roundabout to the A140/B1078 roundabout.
  • B1077 from the B1077/A140 roundabout to the A140/B1077 roundabout.

Closures will take place from 11:00am on 11/08/2024 to 12:00am on 18/08/2024.
