What is happening?

(Marriott Way, Artis Close and Goodale, Braintree) (20mph Zone) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

To Implement a 20mph Zone in the District of Braintree.

Road Description

    • Marriott Way: From a point approximately 17.5 metres from its junction with Badger Mound for its entire length including private drives and any turning heads.

    • Artis Close: For the entire length from its junction with Marriott Way, including private drives, and any turning heads.

  • Goodale: For the entire length from its junction with Marriott Way, including private drives, and any turning heads.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 15 August 2024.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Footpath 24, Panfield & Footpath 42 Braintree & Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 24, Panfield and Footpath 42 Braintree & Bocking in the District of Braintree. As below:

    • Footpath 24: From its junction with Footpath 10, Panfield, north for approximately 565 metres.

  • Footpath 42: From its junction with Footpath 24, Panfield, east Braintree & Bocking for approximately 622 metres to Panfield Lane.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while Anglian Water undertakes access improvement works. The Order will come into effect on 10 August 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Feering Road, Coggeshall/Coggeshall Road, Feering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Feering Road, Coggeshall/Coggeshall Road Feering in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Colchester Road for a distance of approximately 1000m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2024 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WWFWW2VY - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, London Road, A120, A12, Colchester Road for Colchester Road, Prince of Wales Roundabout, A12 and Coggeshall Road.

The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Jaspers Green, Shalford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Jaspers Green, Shalford in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 630m north west of the junction with Rook Hall Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th September 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGGFKC7Y1 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Jaspers Green, Shalford Road, Kynaston Road, Church End, Braintree Road, Jaspers Green, Shalford Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Maldon Road, Kelvedon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Kelvedon in the District of Braintree, from its junction with London Road to its junction with Feering Hill Road a distance of approximately 240m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ501P1013398434 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Kelvedon Road, Bradstock Park Road, Maldon Road, Maypole Road, Kelvedon Road, Inworth Road, Feering Hill, High Street and vice versa (with only initial Maldon Road).

The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Polecat Road, Cressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Polecat Road, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Witham Road a distance of approximately 565m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP2018TS15666 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Polecat Road, Church Road, Temple Lane, Witham Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rayne Road, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic (Eastbound Only) & (Aetheric Road, Braintree) (Temporary Introduction of No Left Turn into Rayne Road) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    • To temporarily close that length of Rayne Road, Braintree in the District of Braintree from its junction with Aetheric Road for a distance of approximately 105m in an easterly direction.

  • To temporarily introduce a ‘No Left Turn’ restriction from Aetheric Road into Rayne Road for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (N07M015150034-13 – Virgin Media). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

An alternative route is available via Aetheric Road, Rayne Road Roundabout, Rayne Road, Pierrefitte Way, High Street, St Michaels Road, South Street, Rayne Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Coggeshall Road, Feering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Coggeshall Road, Feering in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 195m north west of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 210m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st August 2024 for 2 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2021TS11378 – All Traffic Safety). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by All Traffic Safety.

An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, Feering Road, East Street, Colchester Road, A120, A12, London Road, Coggeshall Road and vice versa (including Marks Tey and Prince of Wales Roundabouts as appropriate).

The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dunmow Road, Great Bardfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunmow Road, Great Bardfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bell Lane for a distance of approximately 1375m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd August 2024 for 6 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP2021TS08379 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via High Street, Brook Street, Braintree Road, The Street, Blake End, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Star Green, Great Bardfield Road, The Broadway, Dunmow Road from Bendlow End to Duck End, Dunmow Road from Lindsell to Duck End, Dunmow Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(High Street, Great Bardfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Great Bardfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Dunmow Road to its junction with Brook Street for a distance of approximately 117m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd August 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP2018TS21730 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Dunmow Road, Brook Street, Braintree Road, The Street, Blake End, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Star Green, Great Bardfield Road, The Broadway, Dunmow Road from Bendlow End to Duck End, Dunmow Road from Lindsell to Duck End, Dunmow Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Station Approach, Braintree) (Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To introduce a temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction on both sides of the carriageway along that length of the no waiting restrictions identified in the schedule to this notice, while the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restrictions will be in force.

The Essex County Council Braintree District (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the introduction of a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 1st August 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

  • Description: From its junction with South Street to its other junction Approach, with South Street a distance of approximately 430m

(St Michaels Lane, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Michaels Lane, Braintree in the District of Braintree, from its junction with South Street north for a distance of approximately 65m north of its junction with St Michaels Road for a distance of approximately 15m in an easterly then northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD30137455092 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via South Street, St Michaels Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (London Road, Black Notley) (Temporary Suspension of Weight Restriction) Order (No.10) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Braintree as specified in schedule 1.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on that length of road in schedule 1 and those lengths in schedule 2 for the duration of the closure only. The temporary restriction will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restrictions will be in force.

3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction in that length of London Road, Black Notley from a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with Bakers Lane to its junction with Queenborough Lane as detailed in the ‘Essex County Council (Various Roads, Black Notley) (Weight Restriction) Order 2000’ for the duration of the above closure only.

The Essex County Council Braintree District (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the introduction of a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
