Brighton, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Gas Works

What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - MONTAGUE PLACE AND SUTHERLAND ROAD, BRIGHTON

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 7 August 2024 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-

(a) The temporary closure of Montague Place, Brighton, from its junction with Eastern Road, Brighton to the side of College Court, a distance of approximately 30 metres.

(b) The temporary Southbound closure of Sutherland Road, Brighton, from its junction with Freshfield Way, Brighton, to its junction with Eastern Road, Brighton.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out Gas Mains Replacement works.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, and the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via a signed diversion route.

3. This Order comes into force on 12 August 2024 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 30 August 2024.
